10 Reasons To Discover Jumeirah Al Qasr
03 Feb 2019

Evoking majestic images of the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, Jumeirah Al Qasr is the epitome of grandiose luxury. With its idyllic location nestled within Madinat Jumeirah, the Arabian Resort of Dubai, this hotel sits in a majestic realm of its own.

1. All rooms and suites are newly renovated

Known as one of Dubai’s most iconic hotels, Jumeirah Al Qasr has refurbished its full inventory of rooms and suites, maintaining its traditional Arabic style, but now with a contemporary flair. Known for its palatial grandeur in the heart of Madinat Jumeirah, all 294 rooms (complete with terraces and balconies), have been revamped to offer a rich, yet modern Arabic experience.

2. The beach is enormous

Is 2km of private beach enough? Feel the soft sand between your toes as you stroll along the beach with the reflection of the iconic Burj Al Arab shimmering on the surface of the Arabian Sea. This is one Instagram shot not to miss. Make camp under a cabana; have sunset drinks from a bar on the beach; play beach games; build sand castles and, with lifeguards on duty, take a dip in the warm water.

3. Your kids won’t want to leave the kids club

Sinbad’s Kids Club caters to children up to 12 years old. Little ones will love the shallow and shaded outdoor pool with all its fountains and waterslides, swings and climbing frames. And indoors there’s a soft play area, a room dedicated to Lego (who doesn’t love Lego?), online gaming, loads of toys and the all-important movie room for chilling out. The timetable of activities ranges from arts and crafts to beach games - all overseen by qualified child minders that undergo continuous training. The older kids (and parents) will love hanging out in the games area on the beach. With lively music in the background, kids can challenge each other with a life-size game of Snakes and Ladders, Connect Four or chess. Make friends by joining a beach volleyball team and find out who’s going to be crowned the table tennis champion by the end of the week.

4. The Crystal Chandelier

Often found in palaces and homes of nobility, chandeliers are popular decorative features, often seen as a symbol of luxury and status. Inspired by the layout of ancient Arabian palaces, the Al Qasr lobby is decked out with Azul Bahia granite from Brazil. When guests enter, they will notice a grand staircase centred around a stunning Moroccan fountain. Suspended above this is a spectacular ornate Swarovski crystal chandelier that dominates the lobby. As the chandelier weighs five tonnes, special pillars were added during installation to support the ceiling. Colleagues at the hotel polish the crystal chandelier to bring out its brilliance and grandeur.

5. You can use all the facilities at Madinat Jumeirah

Think you’re checking into just one hotel? Think again. Madinat Jumeirah is made up of four hotels: Jumeirah Mina A’Salam; Jumeirah Al Qasr; Jumeirah Al Naseem and the boutique summerhouses of Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf. Guests have use of all the facilities across the resort, which means you’ve got a choice of more than 50 restaurants and lounges; the Talise Spa and the Talise Fitness club (check out the climbing wall). Plus, don’t forget you’ve got Souk Madinat in between – a recreation of an old Arabian marketplace oozing with atmosphere.

6. Free access to Wild Wadi

With 30 rides and attractions this waterpark is incredible. And it’s completely free to hotel guests, meaning you can come as often as you like during your stay. Who’s brave enough to take on the legendary Jumeirah Sceirah? The wait before the floor disappears from under your feet and you fall 120 metres is excruciating. Little ones will adore playing in the giant Juha’s Dhow with more than 100 activities, from water guns and slides to that giant tipping bucket.

7. Have you seen the size of the pool?

It’s one of the biggest pools in Dubai and don’t worry, there are several lifeguards keeping a watchful eye. Grab a sunbed around the edge of the pool and relax all day. All your refreshments and lunch can be delivered directly to you. And look out for the waiters delivering complimentary ice-lollies.

8. Check out the water sports

Why not learn how to kite surf? It’s such a cool sport. Hire a kayak, take a stand-up paddle board lesson, go on a fishing trip, learn how to dive or why not have a family challenge to see who falls off the banana boat first?

9. Exploring the grounds is so much fun

Kids will love riding on the abras – the wooden boats – that glide along the resort’s meandering waterways. Alternatively, hop on a brightly coloured golf buggy and whizz your way around.

10. Suite sleep

Al Qasr has a choice of suites, all of which are perfect for families vying for space. When booking a suite, families also get complimentary access to the Premium Leisure Club?
