Gazing over the Mediterranean, framed by the dramatic sweep of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, Jumeirah Port Soller is a fantastic base for those wishing to combine luxury and action.

Here are our recommendations for adventures, inland and aquatic, and complementary experiences to round off your day.

Dive into the deep

Climb aboard a boat bound for the Balearic Islands with friends or family for an unforgettable subaquatic adventure. Famed for its exceptional visibility of up to 30m, the region boasts surreal caves and delicate coral. Spot a myriad of species, from colourful nudibranch marine molluscs to impressive, silver barracuda. Upon your return to the hotel, savour a deep tissue massage at our sumptuous Talise Spa to relax and stimulate those seldom-used muscles that have enjoyed a workout under the waves.

Old train in Soller, Mallorca

Take a rustic train trip

Just 40 miles away, Mallorca’s colourful capital Palma is easy to reach and the most scenic way to travel there is by old-style train. This gleaming wooden vehicle was originally used to transport citrus fruit from the verdant valley and today ferries passengers from Port Soller’s art deco station to the city. Hop on for a journey that winds through spectacular mountain scenery, crossing bridges, gliding through tunnels and passing ancient viaducts, and return the same way to reminisce about your explorations with a relaxing al fresco dinner on the terrace at Cap Roig Brasserie.

Tuna fish in the Mediterranean Mallorca

Go deep-sea fishing

The waters off Mallorca’s northern coast are one of the most populated bluefin tuna areas in the Mediterranean. Board a specialist fishing boat equipped with high-tech rods and head out on a picturesque two-hour trip from Port Soller. Once there, set up your rods, lures, belts and clamps with professional fishermen and wait for the big bites to come in. Thanks to the rich bounty of local produce, there’s plenty of tuna on the menu at our Sunset Sushi Lounge, which is a perfect place to exchange fish tales and enjoy a post-excursion meal.

See the coast by vintage car

Take to the open road under blue skies and let the Mallorcan breeze ruffle your hair in a classic convertible. Choose to take the wheel or simply sit back and enjoy the views from the passenger seat as a local chauffeur points out the sights. Travel along smooth clifftop roads and stop in quaint fishing villages for traditional snacks and refreshments. Admire the views from ancient pilgrimage routes that lead to medieval monasteries and take in the incredible collections of art and religious icons within them. Once you’ve had your fill of sun and scenery, take a leisurely swim in our clifftop infinity pool.

Tennis in Mallorca

Play tennis like a pro

Just a short walk from the hotel is the Rafa Nadal Academy at Manocor. Sign up for a professional training session and improve your skills with the champion player’s patented learning techniques. With a range of hard, clay and indoor courts, and high-tech gadgets such as a video analysis booth; it’s the perfect place to focus on your backhand. When you’re done, get up close to memorabilia including trophies and rackets in the Rafa Nadal Exhibition Room, and try some virtual sports in the Experiential Room. Later on, you can refresh tired muscles with a head-to-toe revival treatment back at our Talise Spa.
