Across our spas, whether at our city retreats or seafront havens, we offer our guests a broad range of rejuvenating treatments. Designed to reflect the heritage of our destinations, each marries the tried-and-tested techniques of ancient traditions with the latest wellness developments, and none more so than our rituals. Each of our spas has conceived its own, inspired by and utilising both local produce and traditions. Here we delve into their philosophies and shine a light on some of the most ravishing rituals to experience across our spas.

In Kuwait, our Talise Spa at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa strives to encourage guests to forget the world for a few hours as they’re pampered from head to toe. In the words of its director, their rituals embrace the essences, oils, scent and spices of the region, merging the cultures and histories of Arabia and Europe. These influences are clear in the rituals themselves, for example in the AMRA 24k Golden Opulence Ritual. Amidst the aroma of citrus, local herbs and wood, you’ll enjoy a full body exfoliation followed by the application of pure 24k gold body oil and a massage with AMRA 24k gold hot stones – a nod to the shining bounty of Kuwait’s many souks. Even more opulent is the Diamond Illuminating Hammam Ritual, which blends the ancient cleansing rituals of the traditional hammam with the region’s most treasured luxuries: pearl, caviar, gold, diamond and platinum.

Our Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray takes a more Turkish approach to treatments and rituals, in line with Dubai’s famously cosmopolitan community. Rituals are conceptualised with the guest in mind, the director informs us, meaning each sensual aspect of the experience should directly contribute to the overall feeling the ritual evokes. In addition to formal rituals such as the Diamond and Rose Ritual, each treatment includes elements of ancient Turkish rituals, such as rosewater foot washes, hammam foam massages and the serving of traditional Turkish beverages after heated treatments. Whatever a guest’s chosen treatment, it is enhanced by an element of tradition.

At Dubai’s first all-organic hotel spa, the Native Club at Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens, the focus is quite different. The Native Spa concept – as the name would suggest – puts the emphasis strongly on natural and organic products, many taken from the sea. As their director explains; the skin is the largest organ of the human body and absorbs everything it comes in close proximity with, which is why they source the cleanest, most ethical and sustainable brands to use in their rituals and treatments. Our favourite is the Rose Renewal Ritual; designed for couples, it includes exfoliation, a body wrap, massage and more, utilising sugar and salt, a rare fossil mud wrap and aromatic essential oils to leave you feeling smooth, nourished and firm.
