Jumeirah Mallorca is perfectly placed for romance and relaxation

‘To plan a wedding is to take responsibility for one of the most important days in somebody's life,’ says Ana Zamora, a wedding specialist at Jumeirah Mallorca. ‘We need to ensure that everything is just perfect.’ For Zamora, few destinations rival this stunning Balearic island when it comes to romance.

‘There’s a magical atmosphere here, created both by the rich local culture and the various international influences that have shaped the island over time,’ she explains. The Jumeirah Mallorca is in prime position to enjoy that unique atmosphere, built into a cliff top overlooking both the beautiful bay of Port Soller and the majestic Tramuntana mountains.

‘Perhaps the most romantic time of day here is sunset,’ adds Zamora, ‘when the sun bathes the Tramuntana mountains in a rosy glow and the dramatic colours are then reflected by the Mediterranean.’ A wedding planned in these sublime surrounds usually takes up to a year to plan, ensuring it’s a relaxed and unrushed process for the happy couple.

‘It’s key to really get to know as much as possible about the bride and groom, to understand their story, and their hopes and dreams for the big day,’ says Zamora. ‘Knowing the type of atmosphere a couple would like to create is also very important.’ On the wedding day, the bride and groom can rest assured every last detail has been fine-tuned.

Zamora is just as passionate when it comes to organising honeymoons on the island. ‘One of the most memorable honeymoons I organised involved planning a surprise romantic dinner for a couple that had got engaged on the exact same spot some years ago,’ she recalls. ‘The dinner was a surprise, arranged by the husband, so we coordinated everything with him. We organised his wife’s favourite musician to play for the evening and the table was set with a lavish arrangement of her favourite flowers.’

Zamora has almost no end of advice when it comes to planning honeymoons on the island. ‘I often suggest hiring a Vespa, so that honeymooners can ride through the Tramuntana mountains, stopping off in charming villages like Deía, Valldemosa and Fornalutx. I would complete a romantic day in Mallorca with a sundowner at Mirador de Sa Foradada.’

With its stunning views of the majestic Tramuntana mountains and its magical atmosphere, Jumeirah Mallorca makes the perfect base for a romantic getaway.
