Immersive yoga with world-renowned instructor Adrienne Everett
Connect with Capri, reconnect with yourself
Connect with Capri, reconnect with yourself
Three simple little words can have a surprisingly powerful impact on your mindset. By taking a moment to remind yourself of an empowering mantra, you can help focus the mind and combat stress with positive energy; “I am love. I am light. I am enough.”
This quiet act of mindfulness is just as effective for anyone dipping their toe into yoga for the first time as it is for seasoned yogis such as Adrienne Everett, the esteemed American yoga instructor who teaches for leading studios and brands including Adidas.
Adrienne discovered yoga when she found herself seeking purpose — looking for fulfilment, grounded in her personal values of mindfulness and kindness. She found that fulfilment on her mat. Through time and commitment, Adrienne has become a renowned yoga teacher across the globe, and features in the likes of GQ Magazine.
We’re delighted to announce our collaboration with Adrienne Everett, who in July will offer a special program of single and group lessons at the Capri Medical Spa at Capri Palace Jumeirah. Her classes aim to offer a challenge and sense of studentship to encourage her students to embark on a journey of self discovery. Each class is led with Adrienne’s natural energy, drawing on her vast experience, both in yoga and mentorship, to help others forge a deep connection with their practice, using yoga to unlock their truest sense of self.
Here, Adrienne explains why the Italian island of Capri holds a special place in her heart, making it a wonderful backdrop for her yoga practice, and the classes you can look forward to in July.
Yoga is rooted in strong values. It encourages present-moment awareness and mindfulness. By focusing on the breath and sensations in the body, one can cultivate a deeper connection with the present moment, promoting a sense of calm and reducing stress.
Yoga provides an opportunity for self-reflection and self-inquiry. Through the practice of yoga postures (known as asanas), breathing techniques (known as pranayama), and meditation, individuals can take the time to explore and understand themselves far better, unlocking a truer sense of self.
Capri has its own unique charm – it’s one of Italy’s most picturesque islands, known for its natural beauty, stunning coastline, and serene atmosphere. Many people, including myself, are drawn to Capri for its tranquil and idyllic setting, making it an ideal place for relaxation, rejuvenation, and of course, yoga.
My mission is to provide a transformative and immersive yoga experience, combining physical practice, meditation, and wellness activities to promote overall well-being. I also aim to create a nurturing space for attendees to explore mindfulness, enhance spiritual growth, and improve physical health.
Capri Palace is such a unique environment – the yoga studios are surrounded by serene and inspiring settings, which helps to enhance the peaceful ambiance of my yoga practice. Additionally, the beauty of the island, the sea views and the surrounding natural landscapes can enhance the overall experience, creating a sense of tranquillity and deeper connection with nature.
During their stay, guests can enjoy a variety of activities to complement their yoga practice. These may include meditation sessions, pranayama (breathing exercises), walks, spa treatments, wellness workshops, and healthy cuisine options. These activities aim to provide a holistic approach to well-being, addressing both the physical and mental aspects of the participants' health.
Firstly, they can cultivate mindfulness by immersing themselves in a peaceful environment and engaging in a regular yoga practice. This can lead to a greater sense of presence, reduced stress, and improved mental clarity. Secondly, the retreat can facilitate spiritual growth by providing a space for self-reflection, self-inquiry, and personal transformation.
After their time in Capri, I hope that my students depart with a deeper connection with themselves and nature, and tools for ongoing mindfulness and well-being practices. I also hope to instil a greater appreciation for the power of movement.
