Our pastry chef Julien Jacob pays tribute to the ocean in Al Mandhar Lounge’s afternoon Turtle Tea, which is served on a turtle-shaped tray and includes several vegan options. For every guest who enjoys this nature-inspired experience, a contribution is made to our Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project, which supports these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat. Catch up with friends, family and colleagues in this intimate lobby and tuck into sweet and savoury delicacies made with locally-sourced ingredients. Delicious dishes include avocado tacos and beetroot ravioli, followed by delectable raspberry and honey kunafa and an exotic fruit pavlova.

Having taken a seat amid swaying palm fronds under billowing fabric canopies, watch as the wooden lattice archways cause the sunlight to dabble the floors and enjoy views over Madinat Jumeirah’s waterways. If you love Parisian patisseries, you’ll be delighted to find plenty of French flair on the menu, from savoury breads and pastries – such as Comté cheese puff pastry with grilled chicken and truffle and mini crab bun with paprika creamy sauce – to petit fours that include chocolate macaron and pistachio financier. Meanwhile, a tea menu comprising Moroccan mint, jasmine pearls, rooibos orange and masala chai will whisk you around the world. Shisha is also available.

Situated in the heart of Knightsbridge in London, The Chinoiserie Afternoon Tea Room at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah serves a delicious botanical afternoon tea that takes inspiration from the flower beds and boulevards of London’s royal parks, Hyde Park and Green Park, nearby. Served in a welcoming space that’s infused with soft light, tables are dressed with cake stands that look like ornate bird cages and delicately painted china featuring birds and blooms. The menu features regional British ingredients from Scottish smoked salmon to Cornish clotted cream – while the fine tea selection comes courtesy of the Parisian purveyor Mariage Frères. If you are feeling decadent, enjoy a glass of bubbly from The Carlton Tower’s own cellar.
