Evoking romantic images from One Thousand and One Nights, Jumeirah Al Qasr is the epitome of palatial Arabian luxury. Here are ten of the hotel’s stand-out features.

All rooms and suites have been renovated

Jumeirah Al Qasr has refurbished its full inventory of rooms and suites, all of which still maintain their traditional Arabic style, but now with a contemporary flair. All 294 rooms come complete with terraces and balconies so you can enjoy the Dubai sun in privacy.

The beach is enormous

You won’t need to search too hard for the perfect spot with 2km of private beach at your disposal. Feel the soft sand between your toes as you stroll along with the reflection of the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah shimmering on the surface of the Arabian Gulf. This is one Instagram shot not to miss. Make camp under a cabana, play beach games, build sandcastles and take a dip in the warm water. Lifeguards patrol the sand for extra peace of mind.

The little ones won’t want to leave the kids’ club

Sinbad Kids’ Club caters for children up to 12 years old. Little ones will love the shallow and shaded outdoor pool with its fountains and waterslides, swings and climbing frames. Indoors there’s a soft play area, a room dedicated to LEGO, online gaming and plenty of toys, plus a movie room for chilling out in. The extensive programme of activities ranges from arts and crafts to beach games, all overseen by qualified childminders. Older kids (and parents) will love hanging out in the games area on the beach where kids can challenge each other to a life-size game of Snakes and Ladders, Connect Four or chess. Families can bond over a game of pétanque, table tennis and sand darts, or battle it out over tug of war, badminton, football or volleyball on the beach. Children also have the chance to meet some of the UAE’s most treasured animals, with camel rides across the golden sands.

The crystal chandelier

Traditionally found in palaces and homes of nobility, chandeliers are popular decorative features, often seen as a symbol of luxury and status. Inspired by the layout of ancient Arabian palaces, the Jumeirah Al Qasr lobby is lined with Azul Bahia granite from Brazil. When guests enter, the first thing they notice is a grand staircase centred around a stunning Moroccan fountain above which a spectacular ornate Swarovski crystal chandelier hangs. Weighing five tonnes, it is genuinely a sight to behold.

You have a wealth of facilities on your doorstep

When you’re staying at Al Qasr you can use all the facilities across the resort, which means a choice of more than 50 restaurants and lounges as well as Talise Spa and Talise Fitness club (check out the climbing wall). And don’t miss Souk Madinat – an atmospheric recreation of an old Arabian marketplace – which is great for souvenirs.

Free access to Wild Wadi Waterpark

With over 30 rides and attractions this immense waterpark is free to hotel guests, so you can come as often as you like during your stay. Are you brave enough to take on the legendary Jumeirah Sceirah water ride? The wait before the floor disappears from under your feet and you fall 120m is exhilarating. Meanwhile, little ones will love playing in the Juha’s Dhow, with more than 100 gentle activities, from slides to a giant tipping water bucket.

Have you seen the size of the pool?

It’s one of the biggest temperature-controlled pools in Dubai, with several lifeguards keeping a watchful eye on swimmers. Relax on a comfy sunbed around the edge of the pool and stay there all day. Refreshments and lunch can be brought directly to you, as well as complimentary ice-lollies to cool you down.

Check out the water sports

Discover how to kite surf, take a stand-up paddle board lesson, go on a fishing trip or learn how to dive. All you need to explore the Gulf’s waters is on hand at Jumeirah Al Qasr, from facilities to professional instruction. How about a family challenge to see who falls off the banana boat first?

Exploring the grounds is a bit of fun

Kids will love riding on the abras  – the traditional wooden Emirati boats – that glide along the meandering waterways. Alternatively, hop on a brightly coloured golf buggy and whizz around the resort on land.

Suite dreams

Al Qasr has a choice of suites, with the perfect balance of space and comfort for families. And when booking a suite, you’ll receive complimentary lounge access for the family during your stay.
