Curated for and with little ones, FoodieKiDS is the result of in-depth global research into children’s eating habits and parents’ challenges when dining out or on holiday.

  • Global research we commissioned reveals that 77% of parents think that hotels around the world need to provide more healthy options on kids’ menus
  • Out of the 5,500 parents surveyed, 79% said that an attractive, varied and healthy food menu for children would enhance their holiday experience
  • In response, we will launch a new menu developed by Chief Culinary Officer and former Michelin Guides Director, Michael Ellis

Revolutionising the way that children eat on holiday is an integral part of the Jumeirah Group’s latest culinary-focused project, FoodieKiDS. This dining concept which has been developed in response to the need for children to have more nutritious and wholesome menu options when they’re on holiday or eating out.

Dining is one of the most important guest experiences at Jumeirah, so we’ve spoken to more than 5,500 parents in six different countries to find out exactly what we can do to help ensure our younger diners are eating well while away from their normal routines. According to the research, parents feel that the standard hotel kids’s menu is unimaginative and unappetising, with a lack of variety in healthier dishes. Headed up by our expert team of leading Jumeirah chefs, we’ve responded to this global concern with FoodieKiDS – a brand-new, child-friendly menu that will take little foodies far beyond the standard staples of chicken nuggets, chips and ice cream.

An elevated culinary experience for every single member of the family, the menu has been designed to combine the perfect amount of parental insight with a taste-tested seal of approval. With an open kitchen, we were able to bring children into the development process. So, this new menu only includes dishes that have been specifically endorsed by our younger target market.

Before rolling out the menu across all our hotels, the FoodieKiDS initiative will first launch at our Dubai-based Jumeirah Beach Hotel in mid-October. Pairing nutritious and wholemeal ingredients with a fun touch of imagination and creativity, our children’s starters will include mozzarella pops, alphabet soup and veggie sticks and dips, and there’s even a ‘make your own’ chef’s salad which comes with its own set of mix-in ingredients. Delicious yet nutritious mains will focus on mini roasts, rigatoni bolognese and seaside classics like fish and chips, while sweet treats will include creative re-imaginations of world-loved puddings like cookies & cream, a ‘mess me up’ eton mess and even a fruity watermelon take on a good old classic pizza.

The FoodieKiDS menu will be piloted at the group’s flagship family hotel in Dubai, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, before being rolled out across its wider portfolio.
