In line with Jumeirah’s mission to be culturally connected, guests at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray can find a 400-year-old olive tree called ‘El Olivo,’ outside the restaurant Plaj.

Committed to offering guests an authentic Mediterranean style menu, Plaj incorporates dishes from the region with culinary influences from Greece, Italy, the South of France and Spain.

The olive is a key ingredient in Mediterranean cooking and is used as both a food source and for the production of olive oil – it is featured heavily throughout Plaj’s menu and serves as a reminder of the resort’s mission to source and cook only the freshest ingredients.
