Switch off from the world and reawaken your senses with a rejuvenating spa treatment at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.

The spa

Set on the 18th floor, 150m above ground, Burj Al Arab’s Talise Spa certainly makes the most of its location, with tall ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Dubai and the Arabian Gulf. Set over two levels, the spa is spacious enough to accommodate separate male and female indoor infinity pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms and plunge pools. It also has 14 treatment rooms.

The decor

The pool area is decorated with shoulder-high golden vases, potted plants and columns, plump at the base, which fringe the water like palm trees around an oasis. The columns are decorated with mosaic tiles set in a zigzag pattern in shades of blue, green and gold, which appear to mimic the sun rising over the sea. At one end of the pool there’s a mashrabiya – also known as a shanshūl or rūshān – a traditional bay window concealed by wooden latticework. But your eyes will be drawn to the view. To enjoy it at its best, visit at sunrise or sunset – the spa is open daily from 06:00 to 22:00.

The treatments

If you’re lucky enough to have received a spa treatment as a gift, you may find it hard to choose which treatment to go for. Talise Spa has five signature treatments. You can opt for a revitalising or de-stress massage, both of which are 60 to 90 minutes long, or the classic 90-minute Burj Al Arab signature treatment. Our signature massages use ayurvedic oils for heightened relaxation of the body and mind. A blend of selective techniques from traditional Shiatsu, Thai, Swedish and Balinese massages are combined to offer sheer bliss using finely crafted organic aromatic oils. If you’d like to linger, you can opt for a two-hour treatment, such as the golden amber journey. The royal rose is also two hours long.

Whichever treatment you choose, the result is the same: you’ll leave feeling recharged and ready to rejoin the world. Start by exploring Burj Al Arab’s Terrace, a private beach with pools and Jacuzzis, then take the 90-minute Inside Burj Al Arab tour, on which you’ll see hand drawn sketches, indoor fountains and the royal suite.
