Sirius Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all members of the Sirius reward programme.  It is the responsibility of all members to read and understand these terms and conditions in full.  Further terms and conditions relating to accumulation and redemption of points, accumulation of tier points, tier upgrades, renewals, downgrades and tier benefits ("Programme Rules") are available on  The terms and conditions set out below in addition to the Programme Rules are referred to as the "Terms and Conditions".  These Terms and Conditions were last updated in July 2013 and supersede and override any previous Terms and Conditions.

1. General

1.1 The following definitions shall apply:

  • "Awards" are the offers that can be redeemed when Sirius Points are converted into Awards Vouchers;
  • "Awards Vouchers" are the vouchers that enable Members to convert Sirius Points into Awards and are issued by Sirius representatives or by individuals employed at the respective participating hotels;
  • "Jumeirah" means Jumeirah International L.L.C., the entity with ultimate responsibility for Sirius, or any other company within the same group of companies;
  • "Member" is a person who is a member of the Sirius Programme and "Membership" shall be construed accordingly;
  • "Partner" or "Sirius Partner" is an organisation which: (a) accepts Awards Vouchers from Members in exchange for goods or services; and/or (b) allows Members to earn Sirius Points when they purchase its goods or services;
  • "Privileges" are the exclusive amenities and services provided to Members depending on the Tier Points they have earned;
  • "Sirius", "Sirius Programme" or "Programme" means Jumeirah's customer reward and loyalty card programme;
  • "Sirius Card" means either the temporary or permanent membership card issued by Sirius to a Member;
  • "Sirius Points" or "Points" are the reward currency earned by using the Sirius Card; and
  • "Tier Points" are the status currency earned by using the Sirius Card and determine the level of Privileges attained.

1.2 The Sirius Card is issued by, and remains the sole property of, Jumeirah.

1.3 Membership of the Sirius Programme, Points, Awards, Award Vouchers and Privileges are offered at the sole discretion of Jumeirah.  Jumeirah reserves the right to decline to issue or to withdraw the Sirius Card at any time, or to terminate the validity of the Sirius Card, together with the Privileges or other benefits attached thereto, at any time and for any reason (including but not limited to use of the Sirius Programme which Jumeirah, in its sole discretion, deems excessive or unreasonable). The Sirius Card must be returned without delay to Jumeirah when requested. The withholding or termination of Membership may result in the loss of all Points accumulated at the time of such withdrawal or termination.

1.4 Sirius has no predetermined termination date and shall continue until such time as Jumeirah decides to terminate the Programme with or without notice. Members shall have three (3) months from the date on which the Programme termination is announced to continue accumulating Sirius Points.  Starting on the date of expiry of this three (3) month period, Members shall have a further six (6) months within which they must convert all Sirius Points they have accumulated into Awards or Award Vouchers.  Nine (9) months from the date on which the Programme termination is announced, any unredeemed Points will be automatically cancelled.

1.5 Jumeirah reserves the right to amend, update or change any aspect of the Sirius Programme, including the Terms and Conditions and Programme Rules, at any time without advising Members.  It is the responsibility of each Member to remain aware of any such amendments, updates or changes.  Jumeirah will publish the latest Terms and Conditions on its website  If you require clarification on these Terms and Conditions, you may contact a Sirius representative on +971 (0) 4 364 7500.

1.6 Jumeirah accepts no responsibility or liability for the withdrawal of any Partners from the Programme, even though such withdrawal may affect the Awards available to Members.

1.7 Sirius will endeavour to advise Members of matters of interest, including notifying them of changes to the Programme, promotions and other offers. However, Sirius accepts no liability for requests or correspondence lost or delayed in the postal system or via electronic mail. Without prejudice to clause 1.5 above, Jumeirah is not liable for and reserves the right to correct any errors in pricing, typing or description relating to any aspect of Sirius.

1.8 When a Member telephones a Sirius representative, for security reasons the Sirius representative may request personal information in order to verify the Member’s identity.

1.9 The Sirius call centre will only deal with the person authorised to operate the Member's account. To authorise someone other than a Member to operate an account, a request must be made either: (i) in writing to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE; (ii) by email to; or (iii) by telephoning a Sirius representative on +971 (0) 4 364 7500.

1.10 The sale, transfer or barter of any Sirius Points, Award Vouchers, Awards, Privileges, Tier Points or other Sirius benefits is prohibited.

1.11 In the event of a Sirius Card being disposed of, lost, stolen or damaged, or when there is a change of a Member’s address, the Member must notify Sirius of such an occurrence immediately.

1.12 Any correspondence sent to Members, whether by post or electronic mail, is based on the information given to Sirius or Jumeirah. All Members are responsible for notifying Sirius either: (i) in writing to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE; (ii) by email to; or (iii) by telephoning a Sirius representative on +971 (0) 4 364 7500 of any change to their contact details. Any failure to notify Sirius of such change may result in a deduction of such number of Points as Sirius, in its sole discretion, deems reasonable to cover any duplication of postage costs (including courier charges) incurred by Sirius or Jumeirah as a result of incorrect contact details.

1.13 The only valid interpretation of the Terms and Conditions shall be that of Sirius or Jumeirah.

1.14 Sirius Points, Award Vouchers, Awards, Privileges, Tier Points or other Sirius benefits may be subject to tax liability.  Members are responsible for any such tax liability incurred in relation to the receipt or use of Sirius Points, Award Vouchers, Awards, Privileges, Tier Points or other Sirius benefits.

1.15 Members who are travelling on business should comply with their employer's travel policy concerning loyalty schemes.  Information about Members’ accrued Sirius Points may be disclosed to their employers.

1.16 Jumeirah is the data controller of any personal data collected from a Member ("Personal Information").  Personal Information shall be used only for the purposes of the Programme.  Members consent and agree to their Personal Information being shared with Partners and potential Partners of the Programme as well as with affiliates of Jumeirah for the purpose of the Programme.  Members also consent and agree to their Personal Information being transferred internationally, including but not limited to United Arab Emirates and the United States.  Jumeirah reserves the right to release Personal Information when it believes that release is appropriate in order to comply with any recognised law or to enforce its Terms and Conditions or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jumeirah, its Partners, customers, or other third parties.  Jumeirah does not sell Personal Information to third parties.  However, Jumeirah may release Personal Information if it acquires any new businesses and/or sells all or parts of its business (Personal Information may be one of the business assets transferred to a purchaser).  Members have the right to access the Personal Information which Jumeirah holds on them and to have any errors corrected.  Members not wishing to receive promotional material from Jumeirah, its Partners and carefully selected third parties should send an email to or write to Sirius, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE.  Members should note that certain key information is required in order to allow participation in the Programme.  However, Members wishing to terminate Membership may request the removal of their Personal Information from the Programme database by sending an email to or writing to Sirius, P.O. Box 214159, Dubai, UAE.

1.17 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai.  In the event of any dispute, Members agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Emirate of Dubai.

1.18 The Sirius Programme, including Sirius Points, Award Vouchers, Awards, Privileges and any other goods and services given to Members, is provided to the extent permissible by any applicable law without any warranties or guarantees, including implied warranties of satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose.  To the extent permissible by any applicable law, Jumeirah excludes all liability and responsibility for itself and its affiliates, Partners and agents for loss or damage (including but not limited to cancellation or delay or loss or misuse of a Member's Sirius Card) of whatever nature (including but not limited to loss of profits or anticipated savings, wasted expenditure or attorney's fees) arising from or in connection with a Member's participation in the Programme, regardless of whether such loss or damage would arise in the ordinary course of events or otherwise, is reasonably foreseeable or otherwise, or is caused by any error or omission of Jumeirah, its affiliates, Partners or agents (whether negligent or not), except that nothing affects the liability of Jumeirah, its affiliates, Partners or agents for death or personal injury caused by their negligence or any other liability which may not be excluded or limited by law.

1.19 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is deemed unlawful, void or for any other reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severed from the Terms and Conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other provisions.

1.20 Jumeirah's failure to exercise or enforce any rights or provisions of the Terms and Conditions will not constitute a waiver of such rights or provisions.

1.21 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall create a contractual relationship with, or cause of action in favour of, any third party. Any rights of any third party to enforce these Terms and Conditions under any applicable legal principle, statute or otherwise are excluded.

1.22 General words shall not be given a restrictive interpretation by reason of their being preceded or followed by words indicating a particular class of assets, matters or things.

1.23 The language of the Terms and Conditions shall be English and any and all communications relating thereto (including but not limited to any complaints or disputes), shall be conducted in the English language.

1.24 These Terms and Conditions incorporate by reference the Programme Rules and any other terms and conditions appearing on the Sirius Programme website from time to time (currently at and represent the entire agreement between Jumeirah and Members in relation to the Sirius Programme and supersede any previous agreement between them.  Each Member acknowledges that it is not relying on any representation, warranty or other statement relating to the Programme which is not set out in these Terms and Conditions. Members shall not be entitled to any remedies in respect of any representation, warranty or other statement (other than those set out in these Terms and Conditions) being false, inaccurate or incomplete unless it was made fraudulently.

1.25 All Room Reservations including Sirius Room Redemptions are subject to AED 20 Tourism Dirham Fee per bedroom per night at all Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts and Jumeirah Residence located in Dubai as off 31 March 2014. Please note that a three bedroom hotel apartment is charged as three bedrooms (i.e. AED 60 per night), a two bedroom hotel suits is charged as two bedrooms (AED 40 per night) and a junior suite with one bedroom and a living room is charged as one bedroom (AED 20 per night).

2. Application for Membership

2.1 To apply for the Sirius Card, the Sirius application form must be completed in full and either handed into a Jumeirah hotel or restaurant, submitted online at: or sent via post to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE .

2.2 All information required for Membership must be supplied accurately and in full. Jumeirah may reject any application if the required information is not supplied accurately and in full.

2.3 The temporary Sirius Card must be used until a valid and eligible transaction value of thirty United States Dollars ($30 US) (or equivalent value) is registered, after which a permanent Sirius Card and Membership pack will be issued within twenty eight (28) days.

2.4 The Sirius Card is not transferable and may only be used by the Member whose signature is on it. The Sirius Card can only be used by the Member and, without limitation, not by the Member’s relatives or friends.

2.5 Each issued Sirius Card has an exclusive Membership number.

2.6 Sirius Membership is available only to individuals and not to companies, partnerships, associations, groups or other entities. Jumeirah may refuse Membership without being required to give a reason for doing so.

2.7 All Members must be over the age of eighteen (18) years.

2.8 A Member of the Sirius Programme can only be issued with one Sirius Card at any given time.

2.9 The Sirius Card will not be issued to a person who is an employee of Jumeirah. Relatives of any such employees may not present a Sirius Card when making use of any Jumeirah employee discount.

2.10 Membership in and any application for Membership is void if prohibited by the applicable laws in the country of the Member’s or applicant’s domicile.

2.11 Any Member may terminate Membership by submitting a written termination notice, signed by the Member, to Sirius or to Jumeirah. Membership will be terminated immediately upon receipt of such notice.

2.12 Membership shall automatically terminate upon the death or bankruptcy of a Member.  Sirius Points accumulated prior to these circumstances will be immediately cancelled.  Jumeirah may, acting in its sole discretion, re-instate all or a portion of any accumulated Sirius Points in favour of the heirs of a deceased Member upon the application of his/her personal representative, provided that the deceased Member’s account holds a minimum balance of 15,000 Sirius Points at the time of the Member’s death.
