Maldives Weather

The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet south western monsoon from May to November, with stronger winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for the clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30 ˚C throughout the year.

Jumeirah Vittaveli is a 20-minute boat ride from Malé International Airport. Nestled in a spot of astounding beauty, this is the flawless setting. It is perfect for uninterrupted contentment and family recreation. You can avail taxis to commute in the capital city of Malé and every trip is capped at 20 Rufiyaa.

Currency Exchange/Money

The monetary unit is the Rufiyaa (MVR). Determining the rate for the US Dollar and the issuance of the currency is controlled by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA). All major international credit cards such as American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are generally accepted in shops in Malé and on resort islands. US Dollars are also widely accepted and preferred on the resort islands.
