Baku, 14 April 2016: To celebrate visa free travel to Azerbaijan, Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel near Baku, has launched a special Summer Delight package for Gulf residents.
Visa requirements for the citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been lifted by the government of Azerbaijan which means Gulf residents can enjoy a last minute getaway to the luxurious Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel and explore this fascinating destination.
Offering cooler temperatures than the Gulf, Baku is home to shopping malls, wonderful UNESCO World Heritage sites and for the first time ever, Formula 1 fans will be able to watch their favourite F1 drivers race around the city’s picturesque streets, on the specially constructed Baku City Circuit, over the weekend 17-19 June 2016.
For more information read ‘The City Guide: Baku, Azerbaijan,’ on the official Jumeirah blog.
The Summer Delight package includes complimentary access to the hotel’s private beach; the largest waterpark in Azerbaijan and the Talise Spa which offers indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The half-board package costs $171 (270 AZN) and full-board is $218 (344 AZN) per night, exclusive of 18% VAT and municipality fee based on double occupancy with a minimum length stay of seven nights. Guest booking the half board and full board options can dine at Üzük restaurant which offers a multicultural gastronomic experience. With its open kitchen and live cooking stations at breakfast, lunch and dinner, it’s a lively, cosmopolitan way to dine at one of the region’s best restaurants.
Other outlets include the T-Café for healthy food by the pool; Waterpark Café for burgers, sandwiches and wraps; the Piano Lounge and Bar for a light bite or traditional Azeri tea; and the Promenade Restaurant and Lounge which stretches along the cliff-top, an idyllic place to take in stunning sea views with a refreshing drink. Friends can enjoy the Equinox Beach Club which offers parties, popular DJ sets, concerts and international singers. The venue is located at the end of a 105-metre long pier which stretches from the private beach into the Caspian Sea.
Guests are encouraged to take the free shuttle bus to the city centre to visit Port Baku Mall - the largest shopping mall in Baku, located in the centre of town on Fashion Avenue. Alternatively, guests can sample local cuisine or take a stroll along the boulevard. For those who like to explore, the city comprises two main parts - the contemporary downtown area and the old inner city which together with the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower were confirmed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2000.
The iconic Heydar Aliyev Centre, designed by well-known architect Zaha Hadid, provides a stunning setting for music performances, museum exhibits and modern art collections. Visits to the National Art Museum and Museum of Modern Art are also highly recommended. Baku’s spectacular Flame Towers are the tallest skyscrapers in the city at 190 metres and have become a symbol of the city’s new modern outlook.
Flights to Azerbaijan from the Gulf region are served by local carrier Azerbaijan Airlines, flydubai and Qatar Airways. The capital Baku is approximately two and a half hours flight time from the region.
