Fort Island’s festive market returns to Madinat Jumeirah

Dubai, November 30 2015Madinat Jumeirah, the Arabian resort of Dubai, is proud to announce the return of its annual festive market this December at the recently refurbished Fort Island.

Access to the market is complimentary and it will be open from 17- 27 December, 3pm -  midnight on weekdays and 1pm - midnight on weekends. Earlier in the year, the festival was highly commended as the ‘Best Family Day Out’ in the Time Out Kids Awards 2015.

Surrounded by the arabesque architecture of the resort, the market is spread across Souk Madinat Jumeirah amphitheatre and 1,750 square metres of exceptional outdoor space. This magical venue is surrounded by water and connected to the resort by four bridges.

There will be a designated family arrival and drop off area, a selection of rides, slides, bungee jump, trampolines, an ice rink, the North Pole train, stilt walkers and much more.

Seasonal food on offer will include roasted chestnuts, gingerbread treats and festive beverages. Children will be fascinated by the impressive festive tree adorned with beautiful decorations and visits from Santa.

To make this festive celebration even sweeter, the Lindt Master Swiss Chocolatier will perform cooking demonstrations with Chef Matthew Muller and festive afternoon tea will be served daily at Al Samar Lounge in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam and Al Fayrooz Lounge at Jumeirah Al Qasr.

On 24 and 25December Madinat Jumeirah will host exclusive holiday feasts from 7-11pm at Arboretum restaurant in Jumeirah Al Qasr and at Hanaaya restaurant in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam. On 26 December families can enjoy the Boxing Day Jazz Lunch at Arboretum or the Boxing Day Lunch at Hanaaya. With limited seats, guests are advised to book early.

From 19 - 30 December families can watch the musical ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ at Madinat Theatre. Based on the 1947 motion picture, this musical will take guests on an all singing and dancing journey through New York.
