Dubai, 06 October 2015: Burj Al Arab Jumeirah’s Guest Services Executive Louise Brodie won the ‘Receptionist of the Year’ title at the Amicale Internationale des Chefs de Reception et Sous Directeurs des Grand Hotel (‘The Association of Front Office Managers and Assistant Managers of 4 and 5 star hotels’) gala ceremony held in Dubai.
Louise, from Scotland, joined the Burj Al Arab team a year ago, the flagship property of Jumeirah Group was her first job in Dubai. During the rigorous three-round process, she beat some steep competition including 36 candidates from the best hotels in Dubai and impressed the judges with her outgoing personality and ability to ‘think outside the box.’ Her impressive knowledge of the hotel combined with extremely professional approach and a ‘can-do’ attitude were the reasons why Louise was selected to represent the hotel in Vienna this year.
Anthony McHale, General Manager at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, commented: “We are very proud to have Louise among our team. She is an extremely passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated colleague, capable of handling even the most challenging requests with a smile. She truly represents all Jumeirah Group’s hallmarks and is a valuable asset for Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.”
This is the fifth time a Burj Al Arab colleague has won the AICR award. In 2009 Tatiana Lomteva, Assistant Front Office Manager, won the Receptionist of the Year award, in 2011 Olga Velceva scooped the title of the International Receptionist of the Year, in 2012 Rodolfo Rivera III won Receptionist of the Year and in 2014 Lance Oliver won the same title.
Louise will now represent Dubai at the international level of the competition which takes place in Vienna in January 2016.
