London, 05 November 2014: The Art Movement, the art consultancy which aims to demystify the process of acquiring original art, has partnered with Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel as the new home for its exciting new "Artist In Residence" programme.
Due to launch on Thursday 27 November, the programme will showcase some of the world's finest contemporary artists within the lobby of the hotel and the Lowndes Bar & Kitchen restaurant, where guests can view and purchase the art.
The first artist to showcase work in the series will be Chuck Elliott - the accomplished contemporary British artist who is fascinated with the fluid investigation of colour, movement and light. The work he produces is computer generated with free form shapes that are cropped, re-coloured and enhanced as if editing in a camera view. The Art Movement first showed his work at AAF in 2005 and has exhibited his work at art fairs in the UK, New York, Amsterdam and Hong Kong with past commissions including work for Mucia Prada, Yohji Yamamoto and Nike.
Camilla Giarrdot, Director of the Art Movement, said: "More and more collectors tell me that they want to view art in atmospheric and welcoming surroundings, instead of in a gallery, and we launched The Art Movement to introduce outstanding artists to new audiences in places where they feel at home and relaxed. The enchanting Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel was the obvious choice to showcase our art, with its warm and welcoming ambiance in the heart of Belgravia."
This partnership with The Art Movement further demonstrates Jumeirah's commitment to arts and culture. Ian Richardson, General Manager at Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with The Art Movement for our 'Artist in Residence' programme. We believe hotels are catchment areas for culture, and today's travellers crave a place with exciting art and elegant design. At Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel we are committed to providing experiences for our guests that reflect the importance of cultural diversity, and innovative expression."
