Dubai, 19 October 2014: Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, is proud to announce it scooped three Information Technology awards at ceremonies in the city.
Saeed Al Dashti was named “Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year” at the 10th annual Arabian Computer News Arab Technology Awards 2014.
At the Computer News Middle East (CNME) ICT Achievement Awards, Neil Menezes, Vice President of Information Technology, was named “Future Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year” 2014 and the Jumeirah IT team won the “Hospitality Implementation of the Year” award for the new software defined data centre.
Held annually, alongside GITEX, the largest technology exhibition in the region, the Arab Technology Awards recognises the leading figures and organisations in the Middle East’s IT industry. Saeed Al Dashti, a UAE National who joined Jumeirah in 2008, has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, received the award at a glittering gala dinner in Dubai.
He said: “We are very proud to have been recognised with these awards. The Jumeirah Group is one of just a handful of enterprises in the world that is deploying a software defined data centre of this scale. In orchestrating and virtualising its data centres, Jumeirah Group looks forward to being able to leverage the unprecedented levels of flexibility to cope with business demands.”
Jumeirah celebrated a second success when Neil Menezes, Vice President of Information Technology, was named “Future Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year” 2014 at the Computer News Middle East (CNME) ICT Achievement Awards. The fifth annual awards ceremony recognised individuals and organisations that have delivered ground-breaking business value through the innovative technology. Nominees were judged by a panel of industry experts based on their achievements as demonstrated by the depth and breadth of initiatives and innovation.
The Jumeirah IT team also won the “Hospitality Implementation of the Year” award for the bold shift towards a software-defined data centre approach that has allowed the company to think differently about how IT services are delivered in an efficient and robust manner.
