Jumeirah Group celebrates success at The Pro Chef Awards 2014

Dubai, 04 November 2014: Christian Gradnitzer, Jumeirah Group Culinary Director, has been named Industry Champion for the second year running at the Pro Chef Awards 2014.

At the ceremony, attended by the UAE’s culinary elite, Scott Stokes, Head Chef at Rivington Grill Souk Al Bahar and Rivington Bar and Grill Madinat Jumeirah, was awarded Best Seafood Chef and Dinesh Madam of Rivington Bar and Grill at Madinat Jumeirah won Best Junior Chef.

Nominations for the awards were drawn exclusively from independent restaurants or four- or five-star hotel food and beverage outlets and voting was limited to those associated with the industry. 

Christian Gradnitzer, Jumeirah Group Culinary Director, said: “It was a huge pleasure to win this award, made all the more valuable by the fact that it was voted for by my peers in the industry. 

“At Jumeirah Group we continue to focus on exceeding our guests’ expectations and this award is recognition of the brand’s high standards.”

Chef Stokes said: “I was delighted to win this award as the seafood offering we have at Rivington Grill is something I am very proud of. It is also fantastic to see our young chef talent in the kitchen being recognised. Chef Dinesh is very gifted and this award is a credit to him.”

About Christian Gradnitzer:

A chef by trade, Gradnitzer is the Jumeirah Group’s Culinary Director and responsible for the future progression of the global luxury brand’s food and beverage portfolio. With the group for over 14 years, first as the Executive Sous Chef of Burj Al Arab in Dubai, then in New York as Executive Chef of Jumeirah Essex House before returning to the UAE to take up roles as Executive Chef at Jumeirah Emirates Towers and later Resort Executive Chef of Madinat Jumeirah. Christian plays an intrinsic role in the continued development of Jumeirah’s F&B offering. 

About Scott Stokes: 

With the Jumeirah Group for six years as Rivington Grill’s Head Chef Scott champions simple British cuisine focusing on fresh seasonal produce, sourced both locally and internationally. Originally from Tonbridge in Kent Stokes brings years of experience and passion to the Rivington Grill kitchen. 

About Dinesh Madam: 

27-year old Chef Dinesh Madam joined the Jumeirah Group in 2008 as a Steward at All Fresh Co. Food Emporium, before becoming part of the team as Commis 3 at Rivington Bar & Grill, Madinat Jumeirah in 2009. He has spent six years learning his craft and has quickly risen through the ranks.
