Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa celebrates Ramadan and its traditions with delightful Iftar and Ghabka offerings

Kuwait, 09 July 2013: In one of the most important periods in the Islamic calendar, the Holy Month of Ramadan is characterised by prayer, reflection and fasting, as well as the centuries-old tradition of sharing Iftar and Ghabka meals among families and friends after sunset and prayers.
Featuring the many aspects of Arabic architecture in a contemporary setting, Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, Kuwait’s idyllic resort, offers the perfect ambience. Its wide selection of Arabic and international fare makes it the place for families and friends to spend time together while enjoying outstanding Iftar and Ghabka.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan invokes traditions that are in line with the religious customs of the region and Kuwait,” said General Manager Mark Griffiths. “In deep respect for those traditions, we have come up with several offerings for Iftar and Ghabka and these offerings will provide the ideal setting for families and groups to preserve those traditions in a comfortable and relaxed environment.”

Among several options across the hotel’s dining choices, the Garden Café – located on the lower level of the hotel with stunning views over the gardens to the pool and beach – presents a delicious traditional Iftar buffet with Arabic and international cuisine from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. This includes a variety of Middle East and international live cooking stations and delicious desserts. After Iftar, guests can enjoy the Garden Café’s Ghabka buffet, which includes oriental desserts, as well as seasonal drinks such as kamer eddine, jallab and chilled tamer hendi, complimented by a selection of tea flavors and Arabic coffee.

For those wishing for a comfortable, casual and relaxed ambience, the hotel’s Tea Lounge offers the ‘Ramadan Dewaniya’ where families can enjoy exceptional home-made Ramadan sweets, dates and treats. From 8:30pm until midnight, a special dessert includes Ramadan juices, coffee and tea.

Meanwhile, Pepper, the hotel’s premium steakhouse restaurant, offers some of Kuwait’s most delectable steaks in an elegant setting; its ‘Pepper Iftar Nights’ celebrates Ramadan  in a cosy family atmosphere, where the chefs have prepared a special family set menu for the occasion. After 8:30pm guests can also select from the many tempting dishes on the à la carte menu.
Arabesque, the aromatic Arabic café/lounge with a terrace overlooking the hotel entrance has an elegant, yet traditional ambience reflecting the rich Kuwaiti culture.  The ‘Enjoy Ramadan at Arabesque’ Ghabka offers dried fruits and other Ramadan specialties as well as a selection of flavored shisha and relaxing tunes.

For the Pepper Iftar Nights’ and the Garden Café Iftar Buffet, reservations can be made through the hotel’s reservation office at extension 7100 daily from 9.am until 11pm, while no reservations are required for the Garden Café’s ‘Ghabka Buffet’, Arabesque’s ‘Enjoy Arabesque’ and the Tea Lounge’s ‘Ramadan Dewaniya’.
