Dubai, 01 April 2013: Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, is supporting the global Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday 2 April, by lighting up its properties in blue as part of the global campaign to draw attention to the condition.
The line-up of properties include, in the UAE: the exteriors of Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers will be lit up in blue, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel’s staircase lights will turn blue, Wild Wadi will set all the lights along Jumeirah Beach Road to various shades of blue, Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence will decorate the lobby with blue flowers, and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray will add a blue theme to a range of outlets.

‘Light it up Blue’ is part of a global concept by US-based organisation ‘Autism Speaks’, a non-profit company that promotes research and awareness on autism. Launched three years ago, this global initiative encourages iconic landmarks to be lit in blue on World Autism Day as a way of shining light on the condition. Some of the most famous landmarks such as Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the Empire State Building in New York and Sydney Opera House were lit up in blue for last year’s Autism Awareness Day.
