French culinary stars visit Jumeirah at Etihad Towers for Gourmet Abu Dhabi 2013

Abu Dhabi, 06 January 2013: Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, a member of the global luxury hotel group Jumeirah, will host exclusive lunch and dinner sittings orchestrated by two of France’s most highly celebrated chefs in February 2013, as part of the Gourmet Abu Dhabi celebrations. Both Chef Viannay from the 2 Michelin stars ‘Mathieu Viannay’ restaurant in Lyon and Chef Barbot of the 2 Michelin stars ‘Astrance’ restaurant in Paris will gastronomically woo Abu Dhabi’s epicurean set with specially-created French cuisine menus to be experienced at the hotel’s Brasserie Angélique

As the head of the Lyonaise institution ‘Mère Brazier’, which he bought in 2008, Chef Viannay is known as a leading light in the culinary world and a visionary entrepreneur. He opened ‘Mathieu Viannay’ in Lyon in 2001, which earned its first Michelin-star in 2005 and the second in 2009. Chef Viannay will prepare a series of lunches and dinners at Brasserie Angélique from February 11th – 14th, as well as lead an exclusive cooking class for those interested in learning personally from a culinary master.

After years of cultivating his skills in some of Europe’s top kitchens, the 34-year-old chef is celebrating two Michelin stars and culinary admiration across the globe. In a city that loves tradition, Barbot aims to reinvent French cooking and will provide a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience for a select number of guests at Brasserie Angélique on the evening of February 17th.
