Participants splash out for charity at Wild Wadi Swim Burj Al Arab 2011

Dubai, 11 November 2011: Today over 670 participants descended into the sea to compete in the 2011 Wild Wadi Swim Burj Al Arab.

Contestants of all ages swam the 800m loop around the iconic building raising over AED 256,000 for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international humanitarian medicinal organisation that is celebrating 40 years of Independent Humanitarian Action this year.

-      Overall Male Winner - Velimer Stiepanovic (7.42 mins) 19 years old from Serbia
-      Overall Female Winner – Gwen Van Beek (8.58 mins) 17 years old from Holland

These winners received a weekend stay in Burj Al Arab, a three course meal in Jumeirah Beach Hotel and tickets to Wild Wadi Waterpark.
