Alongside Jumeirah’s brand promise to deliver imaginative and exhilarating guest experiences through a culturally connected lens, Jumeirah is a keen support of local culture and crafts and has proven to be an important springboard for many regional artists. Our commitment to the arts contributes greatly to the overall guest experience as well as brings attention and exposure to many artist talents.

Arts and Culture at Jumeirah

Within Jumeirah Frankfurt guests are introduced to the art of German artist Hartwig Ebersbach. The Leipzig "Kaspar" painting series, with central themes of dreams, tales and legends are placed around the hotel taking our guest along on a breathtaking visual journey.

Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa celebrates artistic excellence and supports Kuwait’s emerging talents through sponsoring exhibitions and hosting creative events. In 2018, the hotel’s tea lounge was turned into a living art space showcasing original artworks by young aspiring local artists. Presented in collaboration with the Fann Way Art Gallery the event aimed to educate, engage and inspire the local community by promoting creativity, culture and artistry through art. This was just one initiative at the hotel to deliver quality arts and cultural experiences to our guests visiting the hotel from Kuwait and around the world.

The lobby of Jumeirah Himalayas Shanghai displays a range of artwork and guests can learn more about the pieces and explore historic artwork, local culture and people of Shanghai through a guided tour, available in English and Mandarin. Notable highlights include an antique pagoda carved from rosewood, a wall mounted 1000 character Chinese poem and a portrait of President Mao by Chinese artist Chen Yifei.

Maha al Mazrouei, a gifted Emirati artist, was commissioned by Jumeirah Vittaveli and designed four pieces of bespoke art to celebrate the  launch of the Royal Residence in 2017.

In the UAE, Jumeirah hotels and resorts pay tribute to the local culture and traditions, through architecture, interior design and impeccable standards of Arabian hospitality. Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, houses a specially commissioned art collection showcasing contemporary Middle Eastern art whilst Jumeirah Al Naseem guests arrive to the sight of a stunning steel sculpture, designed by Emirati artist Mattar Bin Lahej, depicting camels running through water.  What makes this piece so interesting is that from an aerial view the piece resembles the smooth sand dunes of the desert. Mattar Bin Lahej also created the beautiful Arabic Calligraphy sculpture located in the main reception area of Jumeirah Al Naseem which depicts a poem written by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.

Across Madinat Jumeirah guest can travel between properties using one the Resorts 101 luxury golf buggies, which feature designs and artwork by four female Emirati artists and one UAE-based artist, all inspired by the UAE’s heritage and culture.  Madinat Jumeirah is also long-term partner and regular host for some of the region’s most inspiring and vibrant cultural events, including Dubai Film Festival and Art Dubai.

Jumeirah is committed to creating authentic experiences that portray local heritage. Understanding the vision and motivations of today’s global cultural landscape is part of experiencing travel and we aim to create relationships between our guests and our destinations through these artistic travel experiences.
