Everything You Need to Know About Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi
03 Sep 2018

Bringing the mayhem and madness of Warner Bros. characters to life, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is the UAE’s newest theme park. With out-of-this-world immersive landscapes and interactive attractions, there’s nowhere quite like it where you can travel to Gotham City, meet Fred Flintstone and soar through the Wild West on a rollercoaster. For the ultimate family day out, we reveal everything you need to know about Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.

Where else than Abu Dhabi’s entertainment hotspot, Yas Island? Joining the likes of Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld, the newest addition is in stellar company at this leisure-centric destination.

The small print

Coming in at a whopping 1.65 million square feet, it’s one of the largest indoor theme parks ever built and the world’s first ever Warner Bros. indoor theme park. It cost an incredible $1billion and took seven years to build.

Who's who?

Uniting everyone’s favourites from the Warner Bros. universe, expect an awesome roll call of characters the whole family will love. Parents looking to relive a little childhood nostalgia will adore old-school Looney Tunes such as Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny. Kids and teens will delight in action-packed DC superheroes like Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. Yabba-Dabba Do! The Flintstones are also in town with their stone-age antics.

What’s up, doc?

Divided into six immersive lands, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi catapults visitors back in time, into the future, over to the Wild West and much more. The show-stopping Art Deco-inspired Warner Bros. Plaza celebrates Hollywood’s golden era. Lined with restaurants, cafés and shops, it’s the main portal to the park’s other lands.

Home to Superman, Aquaman and Green Lantern, Metropolis is a shimmering urban sprawl where it’s always sunset. Meanwhile, in Gotham City, Batman, the Joker and the Riddler prowl its dark streets. At Cartoon Junction, zaniness reigns supreme, courtesy of Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, Tweety and Sylvester.  Every brick here was carefully painted by hand.

At the Flintstones’ Bedrock, it’s back to the land of dinosaurs and prehistoric pandemonium. Beep beep! Make way for Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote at Dynamite Gulch, an arid American desert.

Rip-roaring rides

Of course, no theme park would be complete without high-octane thrills and spills, and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi delivers whacky rides in spades. Twenty-nine to be precise – from gentle ones for little kids, to knuckle-whitening attractions. Those wanting daredevil adventures will love the Batman: Knight Flight spinning rollercoaster and Fast and Furry-ous; an inverted rollercoaster that spirals across coyote country.

For something more sedate and scenic, take a boat tour through prehistoric times with Bedrock River Adventure or experience the Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey 4D flying theatre.

What’s cooking?

Each land has its own selection of themed restaurants so you can have a fully-immersive dining experience. Chow down on giant ribs at Fred’s favourite, Bronto Burgers in Bedrock, satisfy your sweet tooth with an ice-cold dessert at Mr. Freeze Ice Scream Truck in Gotham City or grab a quick bite to eat at ACME Commissary diner in Cartoon Junction.

Just half an hour drive from Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the family-friendly Jumeirah at Etihad Towers makes the definitive destination for an action-packed holiday.
