Amazing Venues in Dubai to Host an Event
30 Apr 2019

Dubai is the perfect sandbox for big events – a place where ideas can breathe, and creative expression is unbounded. It’s here that tradition and futurism twist together in a soaring ascension of metal and glass. Here in this dune-wrapped desert city, shaped by verve and ambition, where all the most outlandish boardroom suggestions have been realised, including a sail-shaped 7-star hotel and a plethora of ‘world’s biggests’ – not to mention a list of slow-burning projects likely to surpass expectations at the World Expo 2020.

Fort Island, Madinat Jumeirah

Reminiscent of ancient Arabia, The Madinat Jumeirah comprises three grand hotels: the Jumeirah Al Qasr, Jumeirah Mina A’Salam and Jumeirah Al Naseem. It offers the largest hotel event space in the country, replete with grand ballrooms and a 1000-seat amphitheatre, tangled in waterways and elegant Arabic architecture. The latest addition to this collection is the gorgeous water-bound Fort Island, close to the Madinat Conference Hall – a 1,750 square metre outdoor venue in the middle of the lagoon that can only be reached by bridges. The stage holds up to 750 guests, with an elegant cocktail reception area cradled by palm trees and gardens and foliage-wrapped views of the resort interior.

Tameen Majlis, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah

The luxurious Burj Al Arab Jumeirah soars upwards from the arcing causeway of a man-made island. It is one of the world’s few 7-star hotels and, as you can no doubt imagine, it is unmatched as a location for meetings and events in Dubai. Throughout the 28 double stories you’ll find indoor and outdoor event venues, conference suites and floor-to-ceiling views over Palm Jumeirah. On the 27th Floor sits Tameen Majlis – a suitably stylish and informal venue, close to the ballroom. This space attracts a healthy amount of natural sunlight and offers sweeping views over the Arabian Gulf and the sand-fringed fronds of Palm Jumeirah.

Sunset Garden, Jumeirah Beach Hotel

The Jumeirah Beach Hotel sits on a pristine shoreline with a backdrop of the stunning Burj Al Arab. Designed with elegant meeting spaces, outdoor venues, restaurants and a 3,800 square metre arena – it is the perfect venue to host exhibitions and conferences, with world-class Arabian hospitality and award-winning dining. A hidden gem of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, within the standalone Conference and Exhibition Centre, is the Sunset Garden – an airy, landscaped venue with a relaxed ambiance and sweeping views of the Burj Al Arab. This venue is perfect for more intimate gatherings and receptions, with its own enclosed pools and gardens and, as the name suggests, some of the best spots in the city to soak-up a sunset.

Terrace Between the Towers, Jumeirah Emirates Towers

Entrance to the Terrace Between the Towers can be found through the Jumeirah Emirates Towers offices. It is a versatile event space with panoramic views of the surrounding skyline and all the towering landmarks Dubai has to offer. The stylish venue-space seats up to 850 guests and is located on Level 2, between the office and hotel towers – an ideal choice for both intimate occasions and large events.

Layali , Madinat Jumeirah

Hidden amongst Jumeirah’s private beaches, washed by the waters of the Arabian Gulf, you’ll find the palm-lined Layali – a venue torn from an Arabic folk tale, where white pathways snake between trees, flower gardens and manicured lawns. The venue includes comfortable seating arrangements for up to 150 guests, offering gorgeous views over the sand and ocean to the promenade where the white sail of Burj Al Arab juts upwards into the sunfall.

Level 112, Burj Khalifa

The world’s tallest tower is a singular venue for events, unlike any other. The Burj Khalifa extends Dubai’s skyline up to 400 metres and stands like a silver spear amidst the inner city. On Level 112 you’ll find an awe-inspiring 990 square metre space and customisable venue with a minimalist interior and an outdoor terrace overlooking the cityscape. The décor is easily adaptable for different themes and concepts, the catering services are as memorable as the views.

Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve

The largest protected wildlife conservation area in the UAE was showcased as a model for eco-tourism by the United Nations. It’s an off-the-trodden-track location for morale-boosting team experiences, like camel treks, falconry, hot air ballooning, sand boarding and dune dinner events. Choose the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve for a mix of unique sporting activities, wildlife-spotting, Bedouin style dining and far-out desert stillness. There are a select few tour operators to keep this venue exclusive and to minimise the human impact on native flora and fauna, like the Arabian oryx and long-eared sand fox.
