Enhancements at Jumeirah Vittaveli

As part of our continued efforts to ensure the high standards of our facilities, we have a scheduled annual maintenance programme for the resort. With this programme, we also strive to offer new and exciting services and facilities for our guests.

Please find details of our maintenance and enhancement projects at Jumeirah Vittaveli:

Fenesse Conversion / Opening of Cyan, Cuvée Wine Library, and Fumée Lounge
Fenesse, our French fine dining restaurant, has been converted into four distinctly separate spaces:

Fenesse continues to serve French classic and contemporary cuisine with an extended seating area on the open air balcony, offering views across the lagoon and free standing Ocean Suites.

Cyan stretches across several private terraces overlooking the lagoon, and serves beverages inspired by the Spice Route, together with MediterrAsian delicacies from oysters to tapas to a selection of rare caviars. Open from afternoon until late, the mood is enhanced by chilled-out DJ tunes.

Cuvée, the new wine library with panoramic glass walls which also doubles as space for private functions and degustation dinner, will boast over 350 labels from select vineries around the world including a number of unique bin end wines.

Fumée is our dedicated lounge for hand rolled Cuban cigars, trendy hookahs, and fragrant vaping.

The new lounge and restaurant concepts have been inspired by the Spice and Silk Routes – ancient trading routes that connected Europe with Asia. The Silk Route designated the maritime journey from the Mediterranean Sea in the West all the way to the Korean peninsula and Japan, connecting Asia and Europe. It was one of the most important trading routes, bringing precious silk, jade, porcelain, fragrances, and novel spices from the East to Europe while also culturally connecting two continents that had heretofore been almost unknown to each other. The Spice Route went over land and connected the same civilizations with each other. It had several offshoots but the main route would carry merchandise from China to India, then Persia and end in Europe, filling Western households with a new range of spices as well as textiles, and ceramics.

Wedding Chapel
Jumeirah Vittaveli will have its own overwater Wedding Chapel, where brides can walk over glass floors to meet their groom in front of a backdrop of magnificent Indian Ocean turquoise. The Wedding chapel will be located next to Fenesse and Cyan.

First Ice Rink in Maldives
Jumeirah Vittaveli is currently building the country's first ice rink. This rink is located next to the photo lounge, close by the boutique village. The ice rink is manufactured using Glice™ plates, a novel material from Switzerland that allows outdoor ice rinks without artificial cooling systems, ensuring an ecologically sustainable ice rink in the tropical Maldives. Guests of Jumeirah Vittaveli will have the unique opportunity to go from bathing in the gentle waters of the Indian Ocean to gliding over an ice rink overlooking the powder soft beach – a world first!
