Corporate Social Responsibility at Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel

Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel is committed to be the industry leader in terms of our approach to the management of health, safety and environmental matters as they affect our stakeholders in the business. We have set for Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel objectives to ensure we continuously improve our management performance and will continue to aim to provide:  

  • A Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel Health, Safety and Environment Policy bespoke to our businesses.
  • A summary of the arrangements and responsibilities for health, safety and the environment within the Hotel.
  • A workplace conducive to the health and wellbeing of our colleagues.
  • As far as practicable, a safe environment free of injury or illness.
  • Policies and procedures to minimise our impact on the environment.
  • Leadership on the sustainability agenda within the hospitality industry.
  • Safe food of high quality served in a hygienic environment.
  • Carefully review hotel operations and activities by implementing the Green Globe Environmental Sustainable Management System to identifying the environmental impacts of all activities to prohibit any emissions and the use of chemicals that will impact the environment and underground and sea water.
  • We are committed to reduce water consumption by reusing black and grey waste water in different areas of the hotel and by encouraging each and every guest to consume water in their bedrooms and throughout the hotel in a moderate way, respecting the nature and the environment. Water usage is manually monitored and specified.
  • We are committed to reduce and conserve our energy consumption: energy usage is specified and recorded. Motion sensors for lights and air-conditioning are established in some of the areas. All electric appliances are switched off when the guest is not in the room. Mainly lower energy light bulbs are used throughout the property. Energy efficient equipment is purchased wherever available and only used when needed. All back-office computer and electronic equipment are shut down when the workday is over. Meeting rooms lighting and equipment are shut down when not in use.
  • We are committed to reducing our waste and work daily on improving our waste management throughout the hotel by recycling above and beyond the national requirements. We have asked for specific glass, cardboard and paper recycling bins, and encourage guests to help us with our recycling. We try to produce as little waste as possible, and nothing is thrown out that can be used again. A food-saving program is currently being established wherein we will come up with strategies to reduce food wastage.
  • We are committed to preserve our Biodiversity: as a matter of fact, we planted a very large number of flowers, bushes and trees local to Azerbaijan, such as Olive Trees and Pomegranate Trees (the national plant and fruit of Azerbaijan) and today they have well grown and developed as lush flora to be found all over the hotel gardens. Many animals have found food and shelter in our numerous plants, such as a different local bird’s species and squirrels.
