Energy and Water Saving
Energy usage is monitored and recorded with the Building Management System. Temperatures are adjusted to optimize chilled water consumption for winter and summer season. Our guest room management system requires a room key card in order to turn on lights and electric appliances. Guests are encouraged to save energy by removing the card when the room is not occupied. Motion sensors control lights in the corridors.
As part of our energy saving programme, all incandescent and halogen lights were replaced with LED lights. Low-energy light bulbs are used throughout the property, outdoor lighting is controlled by a centralized timers.
Lighting and air-conditioning in meeting rooms and conference spaces are shut down, when not in use. Refrigerator and freezer temperatures are remotely monitored as well, by our culinary team.
Bathroom facilities include urinal sensors and duel flush toilets. Flow reducers reduce water use in showers and basins. Our outdoor areas features a selection of local plants that requires minimal water.
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers recycles above and beyond the national requirements. We have specific glass, cardboard and paper recycling bins and encourage guests to help us with our recycling. We try to produce as little waste as possible and nothing that can be used again, is thrown out.
Bedding and bed and bath linen that are in usable condition are donated to charity. Where possible, crates and packaging brought in by our suppliers are taken back and reused.
