About Chef Gabi
Chef Gabi is responsible of ensuring that Talise Nutrition offers healthy dining alternatives to its guests. She is involved in menu development for restaurants and corporate events. Her cooking and educational classes, nutritional advisory, as well as her diabetic and obesity consultation are popular with Dubai residents and in-house guests alike
Chef Gabi received her Masters’ Hotelier from Steigenberger College of Hotel Management, in her home country of Germany, where she also took an apprenticeship at the Park Hilton Hotel in Munich. Following her apprenticeship, Chef Gabi managed a vegetarian fine dining restaurant and cookery school at the family hotel, situated in the mountains of Bavaria, Germany.
She holds a certificate for Diabetic and Obesity consultation and is also the author of several celebrated vegetarian cookbooks, one of which was honoured with the 'World Cookbook Award' in Paris 2011. In November 2013 she was awarded with 'Culinary Influencer of the Year' by Pro Chef Middle East.
Chef Gabi joined Madinat Jumeirah in 2007, when she took on the role of Chef de Cuisine and developed the concept for a fine-dining restaurant specialising in wellbeing. Her role has expanded over the years, and in 2011, Chef Gabi became responsible of ensuring that Madinat Jumeirah offers healthy dining alternatives to its guests, by creating wholesome and nutritionally well balanced cuisine, using only organic and plant based ingredients for the resort's restaurants. She was also involved in menu development for all the signature restaurants in the resorts including in-room dining, conference and incentives events and the enitre Talise Spa menu.
In 2014, Chef Gabi was promoted to Executive Wellbeing Chef at Talise Wellness and is responsible for the development and implementation of Talise Nutrition across all the Talise operations and in Jumeirah’s hotels. She is currently Director of Nutrition Operations - Culinary for Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts.
