Many rooms have been named after famous writers who stayed in the hotel, including Ernest Hemingway, Pierre Lotti and Agatha Christie who is said to have penned her famous crime novel 'Murder on the Orient Express' there.

The property has also featured in novels such as Graham Greene's 'Stamboul Train,' and has hosted presentations by contemporary figures of Turkish and international literature. The regular Thursday Literary Meetings have featured contributions from luminaries including Umberto Eco, Paulo Coelho, Yasar Kemal and Mario Levi, while regular book auctions are held for collectors and enthusiasts.
