Celebrate Easter in London

Join The World’s Largest Egg Hunt with Jumeriah Carlton Tower

Spring arrives gently in London. The air begins to soften, café tables return to pavements, and longer evenings bring a joyful sense of ease. Blue skies appear between the rooftops, and daffodils bloom in the parks and gardens surrounding Jumeirah Carlton Tower, where the rhythm of daily life takes on a lighter note. Set between the quiet charm of Cadogan Gardens and the elegant avenues of Knightsbridge, the hotel is deeply rooted in the heart of our blossoming city.

During this season of renewal, the excitement of Easter dances in the air, and our teams begin their preparations. This year, we invite you to join us at The Big Egg Hunt, a city-wide trail of artist-designed sculptures in support of Elephant Family - the only charity backed by both King Charles III and Queen Camilla, working to protect Asia’s endangered wildlife and habitats..
Our piece of artwork has been created in collaboration with acclaimed Emirati artist Hashel Al Lamki. Conceived during a residency at the hotel, the bespoke egg is inspired by the stillness of sunset in Al Ain - his hometown in the United Arab Emirates, where low-rise buildings meet open desert, and evenings unfold slowly under vast skies A multidisciplinary artist, Al Lamki’s work often explores the relationship between people and place, reflecting on nature, memory, and the idea of home.

“Every act of creation is an act of care,” he shares. “With the support of Jumeirah, I aim to create art not only for today but for future generations, connecting art, biodiversity, and the urgent need for conservation.”

The sculpture - measuring two feet in height - will be part of the official Big Egg Hunt trail, recognised as the world’s largest of its kind. The trail transforms the city into an open-air gallery, with each egg appearing in unexpected corners - along the colonnades of Covent Garden, near the riverside at Battersea Power Station, beneath the grand facades of The British Museum, and just moments from the hotel, on nearby Sloane Street. Whether stumbled upon or sought out, each piece brings a sense of curiosity and care to familiar streets.
Back at the hotel, a miniature replica of the egg will be on display at The Chinoiserie from 1 April 2025. Set within the calm of the all-day dining area, it offers guests a moment to pause and take in the design - close enough to feel part of the trail, yet tucked away from the pace outside.

Inspired by the same artwork, Executive Pastry Chef Martin Haidar has created a hand-crafted Easter egg of his own. Originally from Lebanon, Chef Martin was moved by the egg’s warm colours and desert tones, which reminded him of Middle Eastern sunsets and the soft glow of his childhood memories. Drawing on this personal connection, he reimagined the sculpture as a miniature edible canvas. Each egg is hand-painted, making every piece entirely unique. Made with 40% milk chocolate and infused with pink pepper, then filled with caramel flakes and hazelnut praline, it’s a quiet nod to the season - whimsical, generous, and made to be shared.

Visitors are invited to follow the trail using a dedicated app, collecting virtual eggs, unlocking small prizes, and joining a silent auction for the chance to take home one of the original sculptures. Proceeds from the event support Elephant Family’s ongoing conservation efforts - helping protect elephants, tigers, orangutans, and other endangered species, while restoring vital wildlife corridors.

This thoughtful collaboration brings together art, community and care - an invitation to step outside, slow down, and see the city in a new light.
