When I first joined the Engineering team at Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, I was stepping into a world where my academic knowledge could truly come to life. My education from the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute laid the groundwork, but it was here that I found the space to grow, both professionally and personally. This place is not just where I work; it is where I have built lasting relationships, honed my skills, and found a second family. Every day spent here has shaped me into who I am today.
Looking back over 10 years, which moments stand out as unforgettable?
My journey here has been filled with moments that have deeply impacted me. One that stands out was the challenge of working on the external lighting. Accessing it via a cradle was not just a technical task; it was a test of my courage and resolve. That experience marked a turning point for me, boosting my confidence in ways I had not anticipated. Another unforgettable aspect has been the camaraderie with my team. Every project became a shared learning experience, where we lifted each other up. And the recognition I have received over the years has been incredibly humbling—it is a reminder that dedication does not go unnoticed. There is a deep sense of fulfilment that comes from knowing that what we do here makes a difference. Whether it is maintaining the intricate details or ensuring that every part of our operation runs flawlessly, seeing the impact of our work on our guests and colleagues is incredibly rewarding.
