From towering climbing walls and Instagrammable rooftop pools, to personal training sessions and indoor skiing, there are myriad ways to exercise in Dubai.

Cycle a converted camel track

The palm-fringed Nad Al Sheba Park is the perfect place for a bike ride. The old camel track has been converted into a cycle track of varying lengths (4km, 6km and 8km) with irrepressible views of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai. And if the daytime is too hot, Nad Al Sheba Park is illuminated at night.

Scale the Talise Climbing Wall

Strap in and clamber up the dizzying heights of the Talise Climbing Wall,which, at 6m tall is one of the largest climbing walls in the region. Aside from the feeling of achievement once you reach the top, rock climbing is a great way to build strength in hands, forearms, shoulders and back. Beginners need not fear, there’s a smaller wall to get started on.

Go indoor skiing

You might not think you'd find snow in this part of the world, but at SkiDubai you can take to the pistes and zoom down snow-covered slopes. Aside from the fun factor, skiing is great for building core strength and improving balance. For some further Alpine adventures, SkiDubai has a twin bobsled track, snow cavern and even penguins.

Take a rooftop swim

Before the sun’s rays get too hot, head to the roof of Jumeirah Zabeel House Al Seef for a refreshing morning dip in the rooftop infinity pool. Overlooking Dubai Creek, the pool is blessed with unbeatable views across the city. Saddle up for a horse ride

From plyometrics and assisted push-up equipment, there’s everything you need for a heartbeat-raising, military-style workout.

 

Raise the barre

Ballet may be a graceful art, but its core training modalities offer a serious workout. Utilising ballet movements with elements of Pilates, dance and yoga, barre improves posture, core strength and tones. There’s plenty of excellent barre classes to choose from in Dubai.
