Sirius Programme Rules

Capitalised terms not otherwise defined in these Programme Rules are as defined in the Sirius Terms and Conditions.

1. Accumulation of Sirius Points

1.1 Sirius Points are the reward currency of the Sirius Programme.

1.2 Sirius Points can be earned on: (i) room charges after check out (subject to clauses 1.3 and 1.4 below); (ii) food and beverage charges; (iii) spa massage treatments at selected Talise spas; and (iv) retail purchases at selected Jumeirah-owned retail outlets, at all Jumeirah hotels and resorts and properties managed by Jumeirah Living LLC ("Jumeirah Living"), and outlets owned and/or operated by Jumeirah Restaurants LLC.  Sirius Points can also be earned on entrance fees only to Jumeirah’s Wild Wadi Water Park (together, "Eligible Jumeirah Spend").

1.3 Sirius Points will be awarded only on an “Eligible Room Rate”. Eligible Room Rates are those defined as:

  • ‘Publicly available’ or ‘Best Available Rates’ via Jumeirah’s website (www.jumeirah.com), booked directly by any of Jumeirah’s participating hotels. This also includes ‘Best Available Rates’ booked via travel agents and tour operators;
  • Retail packages; or
  • ‘Corporate’ and ‘Group’ rates where the Member’s individual hotel bill is invoiced directly to that Member’s company (or to the Member to settle on behalf of his/her company) and the Member is responsible for authorisation of payment at check-out.

1.4 “Non-Eligible” rates do not qualify for Sirius Points and are those defined as:

  • Any booking made using a ‘contracted rate’ through a travel agent or individual wholesale/tour operator, third party websites, airline crew rates, travel industry rates, Government rates, special discounted stays, discounted long stays,  gift vouchers, friends and family rates or employee rates;
  • Circumstances where the guest is a no show (if charged), any barter arrangement, any complimentary arrangement, a gift voucher or third party award or any stay which is a Sirius award stay;
  • ‘Corporate’ and ‘Group’ rates involving a group master-billing arrangement where charges for multiple rooms are placed or merged on one hotel bill and billed to a company or common address or settled at check-out by one individual;
  • Selected promotional discounted room rates; or
  • Certain elements of room rates and/or package rates which may not, at Jumeirah’s sole discretion, be eligible for Sirius Points.

1.5 For room stays at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences, the number of Sirius Points awarded will be based upon the room type booked and paid for, even if a different room type is provided. 

1.6 Sirius Points are awarded at a rate of one (1) Sirius Point and one (1) Tier Point for every three United States Dollars ($US3) of Eligible Jumeirah Spend, net of governmental taxes and fees and applicable service charges, and after applicable discounts.

1.7 Any Member staying at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences will be awarded Sirius Points based on the number of the nights stayed and the type of room paid for, as follows:

*For each consecutive thirty (30) night stay after the original thirty (30) nights, Members will receive additional Sirius Points as set out in the table above.

1.8 Sirius Points for stays at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences will be credited once only for stays mentioned above between the total number of specified nights for the entire stay, regardless of the value of the transaction.

1.9 A Member must be staying in a participating Jumeirah hotel or Jumeirah Living managed property to earn Sirius Points on room charges.

1.10 Sirius Points are only earned by the Member on additional rooms if: (i) the Member is staying at the relevant Jumeirah hotel or Jumeirah Living managed property at the same time; (ii) all rooms are reserved and registered in the Member’s name; and (iii) the Member pays for all rooms.

1.11 Sirius Points will not be earned on membership fees, spa retail items or any health club spend at any Jumeirah hotels and resorts, retail items at Talise Spa/health clubs, conference and banqueting functions, service charges, municipality fees paid, tourism fee, gift vouchers which are used as payment, telephone calls, laundry, kids club charges, baby-sitting, tobacco, transportation, theatre, visit visas, parking, third party charges, in-room entertainment, business centre charges, paid out charges, other miscellaneous items, restaurants not managed by Jumeirah or restaurants that are franchised or food and beverage transactions at either Wild Wadi Water Park or any of the properties managed by Jumeirah Living.

1.12 Sirius Points are earned on the net amount excluding government taxes and fees and applicable service charges, and after any discount has been applied to the bill.

1.13 Members must present a valid Sirius Card to the cashier at the time of check-in or check-out before payment is made, to allow for the accumulation of Sirius Points for room stays. For food and beverage transactions, a valid Sirius Card must be presented before payment at point-of-sale and the Member must be present when dining to receive the Sirius Points and/or rewards. When dining at a Jumeirah hotel, Members staying at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences must settle all food and beverage bills at the time of consumption to earn Sirius Points. Failure to do the above will result in no Sirius Points being awarded. In each case, the Member must allow forty five (45) days for Sirius Points to reach his/her account.

1.14 Sirius Points will be credited only after payment is made in full for the transaction earning Sirius points and for room stays after member has checked out of the hotel.

1.15 Bills should be retained as proof of spend until Sirius Points appear on the Member’s statement. Bills must be presented prior to a retroactive claim being actioned.  Failure to present a bill will result in the retroactive claim being rejected.

1.16 Members will not earn both Sirius Points and frequent flyer airline miles ("Miles") for the same stay. Guests must select either the Sirius Card Programme or a participating frequent flyer programme operated by an airline which is a Jumeirah partner ("Airline Partner") before check-out. Sirius Points may not be combined with, or transferred to, any other loyalty scheme operated by Jumeirah or any other airline, unless a Sirius Points to Miles exchange agreement is in place.

1.17 Sirius Points can be earned when spending at participating organisations which: (a) accept Awards Vouchers from Members in exchange for goods or services; and/or (b) allows Members to earn Sirius Points when they purchase its goods or services ("Sirius Partners"). Tier Points will not be earned on these transactions. For a full and current listing of Sirius Partners, visit www.siriuscard.com. The Sirius Programme reserves the right to discontinue partnerships and cease offering Sirius Points on partner transactions at any time. Sirius and its Sirius Partners reserve the right to decline any transaction/redemption request at any given time.

1.18 To receive Sirius Points on Sirius Partner transactions, a Sirius Card must be presented before payment is concluded at the time of purchase as failure to do so will result in no crediting of Sirius Points.

1.19 Sirius Points will be processed successfully only after notification is received from the Sirius Partner of the relevant transaction. Sirius will not be held liable for any failure on the part of the retailer to notify them.

1.20 If refunds are made to the Member in respect of goods or services for which the Member has received Sirius Points, Jumeirah will deduct the corresponding number of Sirius Points.

1.21 Jumeirah reserves the right to correct any Sirius Point values or statements at any time or when any error is realised, without notice to the Member.

1.22 If Jumeirah improperly denies an accrual or benefit, our liability is only limited to the accurate posting of Sirius Points to such Member’s account as per the Sirius Programme's policy.

1.23 Members can access their e-statements online at any time. Periodic e-statements will be sent to Members who have had transactions in the last calendar year only.

1.24 If the Member wishes to claim any adjustment to the number of Sirius Points credited or to claim retrospectively for Sirius Points, the Member must do so within six (6) months from date of the transaction by sending written details to a Sirius Representative: (i) in writing to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE; (ii) by email to Sirius@mysiriuscard.com; or (iii) by fax to +971 (0) 4  364 7501, together with the copy of the bill for which the Member did not receive the correct number of Sirius Points. The Member’s card number must be printed on the bill. Failure to supply the adequate documentation may result in the denial of such Sirius Points credit. For new Members, retrospective credit will be accepted for eligible spend within the forty five (45) day period prior to Member’s actual enrolment date into the Programme. Jumeirah reserves the right to decline any retrospective Sirius Points requests.

1.25 Subject to clause 3.4, Sirius Points are awarded at a rate of one (1) point for every three United States Dollars ($US3) of Eligible Jumeirah Spend, net of governmental taxes and fees and applicable service charges, and after applicable discounts. Sirius Points awarded based on a currency other than United States Dollars ($US) will be calculated from the quoted currency converted into United States Dollars ($US) using a published rate of exchange in effect during the quarter in which the transaction is credited. Exchange rates will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. The published rate will be determined at the sole discretion of Jumeirah. Should actual exchange rates vary by more than ten per cent (10%) from published rates within any quarter, Jumeirah will, at its sole discretion, review applicable rates and make exceptional changes if deemed necessary.

1.26 From the date on which a hotel, resort or residence ceases to be a part of the Jumeirah group of companies, all stays or visits subsequent to such date will not be eligible to earn or redeem Sirius Points, no retroactive claims will be accepted relating to such stays or visits and/or to avail of any Tier Benefit regardless of when the reservation or redemption was made.

1.27 Sirius Points will be valid for twenty four (24) months from the date on which Sirius Points are credited to the Member’s account. Thereafter, expired Sirius Points will be cancelled automatically. Expiry of Points will be processed as per UAE time 00:00 hrs. (+4 hours GMT) Expired Points will not be re-instated.

1.28 Sirius Points cannot be transferred to any other Member’s account.  

2. Redemption of Sirius Points

2.1 Awards are subject to capacity controls which limit the availability of all products and services offered by Sirius or any of the Sirius Partners. Redemption of Awards may also be limited during certain times of the year.

2.2 Sirius Points may only be redeemed by authorised Members for Awards as specified by Jumeirah.

2.3 In order to qualify for an Award, the Member must have sufficient Sirius Points in his/her account to redeem the Award as specified by Jumeirah.  To claim an Award, Members must contact a Sirius representative: (i) in writing to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE; (ii) by email to Sirius@mysiriuscard.com; (iii) by fax to +971 (0) 4  364 7501; or (iv) via the Sirius website (www.siriuscard.com). The Member can also contact the relevant Jumeirah participating hotel by email or telephone.  During busy times, Jumeirah recommends all redemptions be made at least fourteen (14) days in advance, in order to avoid disappointment. 

2.4 All Awards are subject to availability throughout the year and must be used within six (6) months from the date the Awards Voucher has been issued except for promotional Awards.

2.5 A Member must make a reservation with the relevant Jumeirah participating hotel before such Member can use his/her Awards, stating that the reservation is for redemption of Sirius Points.

2.6 All Awards Vouchers will be delivered to the Member within twenty eight (28) days of redemption. Once Sirius Points are redeemed for Award Vouchers, they cannot be cancelled, re-credited, changed or reissued.

2.7 Jumeirah reserves the right to decline any redemption for any reason (including but not limited to if the redemption procedure is not adhered to).

2.8 Awards will not be replaced, reissued or credited if lost, stolen, expired or otherwise destroyed.

2.9 Sirius Points and Awards are not exchangeable for cash and no change for outstanding amounts will be given. Sirius Points can only be used in exchange for Awards.

2.10 Awards cannot be issued on Sirius Points earned for a Member’s current stay. These Sirius Points can only be redeemed when the Member next visits a participating Jumeirah hotel or Jumeirah Living property.

2.11 Award Vouchers expire after six months once issued. Once expired, Award Vouchers will not be reissued nor will Sirius Points be re-credited to the Member’s account

2.12 Award Vouchers may be cancelled up to seventy two (72) hours in advance of a Member’s stay. A Sirius representative must be informed of any cancellations. Sirius Points will then be re-credited to the Member’s account. If the Award Voucher is not cancelled, Sirius Points will not be re-credited.

2.13 The number of Sirius Points required for room redemptions will vary depending on the time of year. There are three redemption categories - off-peak, peak and super peak. The dates for each category may be obtained by (i) contacting a Sirius representative; or (ii) through the Sirius website.

2.14 There are no Sirius room redemption black-out dates. Redemptions will be possible every day of the year where the Sirius room redemption allocation has not been exceeded at the requested Jumeirah hotel.

2.15 Sirius room redemption Awards are limited to double occupancy.

2.16 Sirius restaurant redemption Awards are limited to a maximum of three courses and menu choice is at the discretion of the restaurant (either a la carte or fixed menu). Brunches, festive holidays and special events are not included in the standard restaurant redemption Awards.

2.17 Awards cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other offers or promotions.

2.18 All Room Reservations including Sirius Room Redemptions are subject to AED 20 Tourism Dirham Fee per bedroom per night at all Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts and Jumeirah Residence located in Dubai as off 31 March 2014. Please note that a three bedroom hotel apartment is charged as three bedrooms (i.e. AED 60 per night), a two bedroom hotel suits is charged as two bedrooms (AED 40 per night) and a junior suite with one bedroom and a living room is charged as one bedroom (AED 20 per night).

Airline Partner and Other Partner Redemptions

2.19 Members can redeem Sirius Points in exchange for Miles or Points with selected participating Airline Partners and other participating partners, a list of which can be found on the Sirius website (www.siriuscard.com). Selected such partners’ customers can also transfer their respective Partner Programme Points to Sirius Points.

2.20 Members can only transfer their Sirius Points during their active Membership term.

2.21 Sirius Points can only be transferred to Miles or Points by contacting a Sirius Representative: (i) in writing to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE; (ii) by email to Sirius@mysiriuscard.com; (iii) by fax to +971 (0) 4  364 7501; or (iv) via the Sirius website (www.siriuscard.com),

2.22 Sirius Points can only be transferred in increments of 100 Sirius Points.  A minimum of 400 Sirius Points must remain in the Member’s account after the transfer.

2.23 Redemption or usage of Partner Miles or Points is subject to the terms and conditions of the participating Airline Partners and other participating partners. Sirius Airline Partners and other participating partners participating in Sirius Points to Miles or Miles to Sirius Points exchanges are subject to change without prior notice.

2.24 Members requesting a Sirius Points to Miles or Points exchange must be a member of the participating Airline Partner’s frequent flyer programme or Members of participating partners programmes.

2.25 Only Members can transfer Sirius Points.

2.26 Exchanged Miles are considered bonus Miles under the airline programme and will not count towards upgraded Tier status in the participating airline programme.

2.27 Once a Sirius Points to Miles or Points exchange is requested, this will be an automated process and will take a maximum of twenty eight (28) days.

2.28 Sirius Points will be transferred successfully only after all the details provided by the Member are validated and confirmed by the participating Airline Partner or other Participating partners.

2.29 If validations are unsuccessful, the Member will be notified by a Sirius representative.

2.30 Once Sirius Points are transferred to Miles or Points they cannot be cancelled, re-credited, changed or reissued.

2.31 Jumeirah and the participating Airline Partner and other participating partners have the right to decline a transfer request of Sirius Points to Miles or Points at any given time.

2.32 Jumeirah has the right to change and/or terminate this programme at any time with or without prior written notice to Members.  

2.33 Sirius Points earned through other participating Partners may vary from the standard earning proposition. Any variances will be outlined on www.siriuscard.com 

Third Party Partner Redemptions

2.34 All redemptions of Awards with a Partner are subject to the individual Partner’s terms and conditions and Jumeirah excludes all liability to any Member or other person in respect of any negligence, wilful misconduct, poor service or breach of obligation arising out of the provision of or the failure to provide any service by or on behalf of a Partner.

2.35 Partner Award Vouchers will only be couriered out to the Member’s preferred address and may not be collected from a Jumeirah hotel.

2.36 Sirius Points earned through participating Partners may vary from the standard earning proposition. Any variances will be outlined on www.siriuscard.com 

3. Sirius Family and Friends Programme

3.1 The primary cardholder of a Sirius account (for the purposes of this clause 3, a “Primary Member") can enrol up to three additional friends or family members (“Supplementary Member(s)”) into the Sirius Family and Friends Programme.

3.2 Upon enrolment, the three Supplementary Members will be issued a Blue Sirius Card irrespective of the Tier status of the Primary Member. 

3.3 A new Membership number will be issued to each Supplementary Member enrolled in the Sirius Family and Friends Programme. The new Membership number will be connected to the account of the Primary Member. All Supplementary Members’ transactional activities will be linked to the Primary Member’s account and the Sirius Points balance of all accounts will reflect as cumulative balance.

3.4 Only Sirius Points and not Tier Points can be earned by the Supplementary Members.

3.5 The Supplementary Members are not entitled to any of the Tier Benefits associated with the Tier Points status of the Primary Member.

3.6 All Sirius Points earned by the Supplementary Members will automatically be credited to the Primary Member’s account. Supplementary Members do not earn Sirius Points in their own right. Sirius Points can only be earned on one account for any individual transaction.

 

3.7 All account statements of the Supplementary Members will be sent to the Primary Member. No separate statements will be issued.

3.8 All Supplementary Members can redeem Sirius Points on behalf of the Primary Member for Awards.

3.9 The Primary Member can cancel the Membership of the Supplementary Members at any time by confirming the same to Sirius: (i) in writing to the Sirius Card Centre, PO Box 214159, Dubai, UAE; (ii) by email to Sirius@mysiriuscard.com; or (iii) by fax to +971 (0) 4 364 7501.

3.10 The Supplementary Members may update the Primary Member’s account details unless otherwise mentioned by the Primary Member.

3.11 Bonus Sirius Points for any offer will not be credited to Supplementary Members.

3.12 All other relevant Terms and Conditions apply to the Supplementary Member.

4. Membership Term and Card Renewal

4.1 A Membership term is twelve (12) months for Silver and Gold Members.

4.2 Silver and Gold Membership will be reviewed one year after the date of qualifying for that Tier category for the purposes of assessing Membership renewal (“Renewal”).

4.3. At Renewal, a Member’s account will be assessed and depending on the number of Tier Points earned, the relevant Sirius Card of the Tier qualified for will be issued. The renewed Sirius Card will be dispatched to Members and may take up to twenty eight (28) working days for delivery

4.4 Sirius Silver and Gold Cards are valid for thirteen (13) months, which allows for twelve (12) months of Membership plus [one additional month] for card delivery. Sirius Blue Cards remain valid as long as the Member remains active in the Sirius Programme, and will only be reissued upon request.

4.5 If no spend is registered on a Sirius Card throughout a twenty four (24) month period, such Member’s account will lapse and only be reactivated upon a new spend being registered on that Member’s account.

4.6 Lapsed Members will be deemed inactive and will be unable to access any of their account details via the Sirius website (www.siriuscard.com).  

5. Accumulation of Tier Points

5.1 Tier Points are the status currency of the Sirius Programme and are used to calculate eligibility for the Blue, Silver and Gold Membership categories (each, a “Tier”).

5.2 Tier Points are only awarded to Members in respect of Eligible Jumeirah Spend.  Tier Points cannot be earned in respect of any special offers or promotional items. Subject to clause 3.4, one (1) Tier Point will be earned by Members for every three United States Dollars ($US3) of Eligible Jumeirah Spend, net of governmental taxes and fees and applicable service charges, and after applicable discounts.

5.3 Tier Points are not earned on spend with Sirius Partners.

5.4 Tier Points are non-transferable and do not expire.

If the required number of Tier Points has not been earned during the relevant Membership term, the Member will be downgraded by one (1) Tier.

6. Tier Upgrades, Renewals and Downgrades

6.1 Membership for each Sirius Card type is based upon the required number of Tier Points being achieved within a twelve (12) month Membership term for Sirius Silver and Sirius Gold.

6.2 If the required number of Tier Points is not achieved within a Membership term, Members will be downgraded.

6.3 Members may be upgraded by two Tier categories, but downgraded by only one Tier category in a Membership term.

6.4 At the end of each Membership term, Members are allocated a Tier for the subsequent Membership period. A new Sirius Card will be dispatched to Members and may take up to twenty eight (28) days for delivery.

6.5 At the time of Renewal, the relevant number of Tier Points will be deducted from the Member’s account (i.e. Blue - 9 Tier Points, Silver - 1499 Tier Points and Gold - 3999 Tier Points).  However, Tier Points will be set to zero in cases of Membership upgrade and downgrade.

7. Tier Benefits

Sirius Members are eligible to receive benefits based upon the Tier of Membership (the “Tier Benefits”). All Terms and Conditions shall apply. All Tier Benefits are subject to availability and subject to change at Jumeirah’s sole discretion. A valid Sirius Card must be presented in order to avail of any Tier Benefit. The Tier Benefits are only applicable to the Primary Member unless otherwise specified. Jumeirah reserves the right to add, modify, or delete Tier Benefits and/or eligibility at its sole discretion at any time and without notice. Base points earned will count toward Tier qualification. Bonus points earned do not count towards Tier qualification.

Gold - complimentary round-trip transfer

When staying at a Jumeirah hotel, Gold Members will receive complimentary transport between Dubai International, London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London City airports and any Jumeirah hotel in the same city. Reservations must be made via the central reservations office of the Jumeirah hotel and the Member must state that he/she is a Sirius Gold Member at the time of booking. The vehicle used is at the discretion of the Jumeirah hotel. Gold Members staying at Burj Al Arab in Dubai must stay a minimum of five (5) nights to avail of this Tier Benefit, while Gold Members staying at any of: Jumeirah Carlton Tower and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel in London, Jumeirah Himalayas in Shanghai, Jumeirah Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome, Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca must stay a minimum of four (4) nights. Gold Members staying at Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living, London must stay a minimum of seven (7) nights. 

This benefit applies once during the member's stay, during check in and final check out only.

Not applicable at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences, Dubai and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi.

Gold - upgrade to next room category

Gold Members will receive a complimentary room upgrade at the time of check–in, subject to availability and rates. The room upgrade is applicable only when the room is charged at the Jumeirah hotel’s published rates. All upgrades will be to the next room category only. This Tier Benefit excludes Burj Al Arab, Beit Al Bahar and the Presidential and Royal Suites at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The upgrade applies to the Member’s room only. The room upgrade cannot be transferred to a third party.

Not applicable at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences, Dubai and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi.

This Tier Benefit is valid for a maximum of twelve (12) guests when the Member is present. Any gratuities will be at the discretion of the Member. Subject to availability, Gold Members will receive a one (1) hour complimentary spa treatment for two (2) guests. This can be availed only once during the entire stay. Gold Members must stay a minimum of three (3) nights to avail of this Tier Benefit. The complimentary treatment is for the basic level treatment only. Treatments must be booked between 09:00 and 15:00. The one (1) hour treatment cannot be added to any other treatment and both treatments cannot be used together by only one person. Massages must be booked together and taken at the same time. The Member must request the complimentary spa treatment at the time of making his/her room reservation.
