Madinat Jumeirah welcomes back Art Dubai 2014

Dubai, 16 February 2014: Madinat Jumeirah, the luxurious Arabian resort of Dubai, will host the eighth edition of Art Dubai, the leading international art fair for the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia region.

Scheduled to take place from 19-22 March 2014, Art Dubai has become a cornerstone of the region’s booming contemporary art community and is recognised as a global meeting point in today’s art world.

Madinat Jumeirah has been the official hotel partner and main sponsor since its inception in 2007 – this year’s show features over 80 galleries from around the world.

“We are delighted to host Art Dubai 2014 at our beautiful beachside property. For an exhibition that has quickly become a cornerstone for the region’s art community, the link with a resort that epitomises Arabian architecture and culture is a perfect fit,” said Margaret Paul, Resort General Manager, Madinat Jumeirah

This year, Madinat Jumeirah has teamed up with Mawaheb from Beautiful People - an art studio in the Al Fahidi historical neighbourhood that provides young adults with special needs a venue to channel their creativity and energy into paintings, sculptures and mixed media.

To help generate awareness for the studio, the work of 21-year-old Emirati Abdullah Lutfi will be displayed in the main hotel lobby of Mina A’Salam during Art Dubai. The painting is inspired by his spontaneous view of the resort. This image was also the inspiration for all collateral produced at Madinat Jumeirah for the event.
