Jumeirah celebrates at Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2014

Dubai, 31 March 2014: Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding is delighted to have won an impressive collection of trophies at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2014.

At the event held in Dubai on Wednesday 26 March, The Rib Room won ‘Best Steakhouse Restaurant,’ and The Ivy scooped ‘Best European Restaurant,’ both located at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. For the second year running, Madinat Jumeirah’s seafood restaurant Pierchic, won ‘Best Romantic Restaurant.’ 

The Rib Room is renowned for its exquisite selection of succulent grilled meats, seafood and vegetarian dishes prepared with finesse and flair by our celebrated chefs. The restaurant was highly commended in 2012 and 2013 and this latest award is a great achievement to add to the hotel’s portfolio. Hakkasan, situated at The Boulevard, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, also won best Chinese Restaurant. 

The Ivy, also located at Jumeirah Emirates Towerss, scooped Time Out Dubai’s ‘Best European Restaurant.’ Two years after opening its doors, the Dubai restaurant proved true to its history and reputation as an English institution. At the awards, The Ivy was described as a ‘Tardis of charm’ with service that ‘rides a perfect wave between ultra-efficient and polite, with an expertly appropriate sense of informal warmth.’ The classic menu is a combination of international flavours, set in a Jazz lounge against a 1920’s backdrop. 

For the second year running, seafood restaurant Pierchic won ‘Best Romantic Restaurant.’ Perched at the end of a long wooden pier with spectacular views of the Burj Al Arab and Arabian Gulf, Pierchic is recognised by the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards on an annual basis and was previously awarded ‘Best Seafood Restaurant.’

In addition, Michael Kitts, Director of Culinary Arts at the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, received an "Outstanding Contribution Award" in recognition of his pioneering work in the food and beverage industry.

Spread over 20 categories, the shortlist represents all the major types of cuisine represented in the city. The winners were selected by a panel of experts who based their decisions on a comprehensive set of reviews conducted over the previous 12 months by Time Out assessors, who dined out anonymously at hundreds of eateries, from five-star restaurants to neighbourhood cafés.
