Burj Al Arab begins the Year of the Horse at a gallop

Dubai, 02 February 2014: Burj Al Arab, the world’s most luxurious hotel, ushered in the Year of the Horse in style, by hosting its annual Chinese New Year event marking the beginning of this major celebration in the Chinese calendar.

The hotel projected a calligraphic horse artwork on its sail-shaped exterior to launch its Chinese New Year celebrations spanning seven days. Live zither music, the traditional eye-dotting ceremony, and a majestic lion dance were some of the traditional activities laid on for guests. As a grand finale to the event, an eight-minute fireworks display dazzled guests and ensured a stylish welcome to the New Year.

“For the last four years China has been a leading market for Burj Al Arab. Attracting discerning High Net Worth Individuals is an essential part of our long-term strategy”, said Heinrich Morio, General Manager at Burj Al Arab. “We have years of experience in meeting Chinese guests’ needs and we constantly strive to maintain our reputation as their must-see destination”.

To make guests feel at home, Burj Al Arab’s Far East Asian restaurant, Junsui, is offering a bespoke menu designed by Chef Foong with such delicacies as Fa Gao (Chinese-style cupcakes) and Nian Gao (new year cake) served alongside Dim Sum and Peking Duck.
