New Executive Chef at Jumeirah Frankfurt

New Executive Chef at Jumeirah Frankfurt

Frankfurt, 07 October 2013: Jumeirah Frankfurt, the first hotel in Germany of Dubai-based Jumeirah Group, has appointed Marc Schulz as the new Executive Chef. The German national is responsible for the entire culinary operation of the luxury hotel in the heart of the city.

Marc Schulz brings extensive experience with him, developed through working in several fine dining restaurants in Germany such as the ‘Tiefenbachers Herzog von Burgund’ in Neuss, the ‘Fährhaus’ in Sylt and the ‘le cheval blanc’ in Düsseldorf.

After graduating from Steigenberger Hotel Academy in Bad Reichenhall with a Bachelor degree in ‘professional of cookery and kitchen management’ in 2006, Chef Marc was Executive Chef at the romantic ‘Waldhotel Mangold’ in Bensberg. In 2008 he moved to the renowned ‘Breidenbacher Hof’, a Capella Hotel, as Sous Chef and was part of the pre-opening team. He also managed the pre-opening of the well-known Capella Hotel ‘Schloss Velden’ in Austria in the same year.

Prior to joining Jumeirah Frankfurt, Chef Marc worked as an Executive Chef for the Capella Hotel Group and managed the restaurants and kitchens of ‘The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center’ in Auburn, USA. In March 2013 he also overlooked the opening of the Capella Hotel Washington DC, USA.

Jumeirah Frankfurt’s signature restaurant ‘Max on One’ was designed by leading Japanese designer Takashi Sugimoto and his team at Super Potato. The restaurant has space for 90 guests and includes an open show kitchen, a private dining area and a comfortable lounge. The restaurant’s theme highlights the origins of the hotel site – steeped in the history of the postal service of Europe and the Thurn-und-Taxis Palais.

Jumeirah Frankfurt’s dining options also include an authentic Lebanese restaurant ‘el rayyan’ that is conveniently located with direct access to the MyZeil shopping mall. Offering excellent views of the Thurn-und-Taxis-Palais, ‘Ember Bar and Lounge’ is the heart of Jumeirah Frankfurt. The intimate bar provides a vibrant setting for cocktails and light snacks for the city’s movers and shakers. The sophisticated meeting and event facilities on the third floor with 730m2 of space provide the perfect setting to create unforgettable experiences.
