Les Clefs d’Or present Burj Al Arab’s concierge manager with the Golden Keys

Dubai, 07 October 2013: Burj Al Arab’s concierge manager, Oscar van der Veen, has been recognised by Les Clefs d’Or for his continued efforts in providing guests with outstanding service. The famous Golden Keys were presented by the president of Les Clefs d’Or UAE, Charles Ferrer, during a special event in the Burj Al Arab’s Royal Suite. The ceremony was attended by fellow members of Les Clefs d’Or and a representative from Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Oscar, an Australian national, joined the Burj Al Arab in 2009 and brought extensive luxury sector experience with him having worked for brands such as Gucci and Mulberry in London. 

“To see Oscar being recognised by Les Clefs d’Or is real testimony to his passion for excellence,” said Heinrich Morio, Burj Al Arab’s General Manager. “His skills, natural flair for excellent customer service, as well as his can-do attitude, have all been praised by our guests. He always has his finger on the pulse.” 

Commenting on Oscar’s performance, Mr. Ferrer added: “A concierge becomes a Les Clefs d’Or member by perfecting his or her skills and competencies. Oscar’s habits, actions and behaviors are congruent with the size and scope of his vision. That is why I call him a champion.”

Les Clefs d’Or was originally formed in France in 1929 to identify the best concierge in the industry and to this day inspires members to strive for new levels of excellence.Oscar joins fellow Burj Al Arab concierge Royston Sixtus, who was one of the founding members of Dubai Concierge Group and Les Clefs d’Or in the UAE in 2002.
