Jumeirah’s YouTube channel crosses 5 million mark
Dubai, 24 October 2013: Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, has received over 5 million hits on its YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/jumeirah, placing it ahead of all other luxury hotel brands by a considerable margin.
The most popular video – Burj Al Arab’s ‘Leave the Ordinary Behind’ has attracted over 1 million views, while the recently launched ‘Experiences’ campaign has seen viewership figures rise rapidly since the summer. Recognising that film plays a highly influential role in helping travellers decide both on their destination and on their accommodation, Jumeirah has deliberately pursued a rich media strategy on its digital platforms.
The films are beautifully shot vignettes based on the stories and insights shared by guests of the hotels and the people who work in the 22 properties operated by Jumeirah across the world. In order to reach its key target markets, the films are delivered in English, Arabic, Russian and German and marketed through a wide range of social media with a view to encouraging viewers to discover more about the company and its hotels on www.jumeirah.com.
Terry Kane, Director of Digital Strategy at Jumeirah Group, said: “Surpassing the 5 million mark means that we have left the competition behind. There are now 181 videos available in four languages ensuring that Jumeirah now has a global reach in the major markets. Since 2012, we’ve seen a 119% increase in views. So far in 2013 we have uploaded 73 new videos to keep up with the rising demand of high quality digital content. The next step in our video strategy is to further enhance the rich media capabilities of our mobile site.”
The top three countries who watch Jumeirah videos are: Saudi Arabia with 951,358 views, United States with 799,107 views and United Kingdom 608,221. Hits from Saudi Arabia have doubled since 2012.
