Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa, Mallorca, Wins Prestigious Conde Nast Traveller Award

Mallorca, April 26 2013: Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, is honored to announce that the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca was presented last night with the Conde Nast Traveller Magazine award for the ‘Best non-city hotel in Spain’. This accolade follows the hotel’s success as a finalist in Germany’s Gala Magazine Spa Awards which were recently held in Baden Baden. The five star hotel, opened in April 2012, is the first European resort for Jumeirah Group, and offers a new standard of luxury on the island of Mallorca.

Although only in its first year, Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel has already enjoyed an impressive run of other prestigious accolades. Recognition from the industry, and consumers alike, secured inclusion on Tripadvisor’s ‘10 Hot New Hotels for 2012’ list as well as selection for the Sunday Times’ ‘Hottest Hotels of 2013’. The hotel was also highly commended at the European Hotel Design Awards in the category Architecture of the Year.

Situated on the rugged northwest coast of Mallorca, the hotel crowns a cliff overlooking the bay of Port Soller. It enjoys extensive, uninterrupted sea views on one side, and has a dramatic back drop of the Tramuntana Mountains - recently declared a UNESCO Heritage Site - on the other. Port Soller, a small and tranquil fishing village famous for its horseshoe bay, charming port and stunning aspect provides a picturesque setting. It occupies one of the most idyllic sites on the island, being in the heart of the Soller valley, renowned for its orange, lemon, and olive orchards, and magnificent Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range.

The hotel includes 120 rooms and suites, two restaurants, four bars, two swimming pools and its sumptuous Talise Spa located in its own luxurious complex. Respecting the harmony of the landscape, the hotel is divided into 11 low-rise structures ensuring that visitors will experience a truly exceptional and natural environment during their stay, as well as the world class service and traditional hospitality that Jumeirah is renowned for.

The understated interior design creates a comfortable and contemporary feel. A palette of soft earth shades combined with indigenous woods such as olive and pine, local crafts and architecture, create a warm and peaceful ambience. The spacious rooms whose vast windows and terraces overlook either the Mediterranean sea, mountains or harbour, guarantee a visual feast for the eyes.
