Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai Introduces Sunset Incense Ceremony

Shanghai 25 March 2013: After launching the first Lobby Art Tour in China in 2012, the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai is proud to introduce another unique event in the hotel lobby, the Sunset Incense Ceremony.

For over two thousand years, the Chinese have used incense in their daily life and regard it as one of the highest Chinese art forms. Specially designed in accordance with the contemporary luxury Chinese setting of the Jumeirah Lobby, the ceremony is performed at sunset by three female practitioners who are all dressed in traditional Han costumes.  Each step and gesture taken during the ceremony is designed to reflect human respect and appreciation for nature.

The 10-minute Jumeirah Sunset Incense Ceremony creates an atmosphere of balance, calm and harmony for all guests after a hectic day. Th.  All guests may enjoy the Sunset Incense Ceremony with one of the specialty Chinese teas in the Lobby Lounge at 5pm during weekdays.
