Yale University's A Cappella Singing Group Celebrate 4th July at Burj Al Arab
America’s oldest a cappella singing group, the Yale University Whiffenpoofs, performed a special 4th July recital to guests at the iconic Burj Al Arab during afternoon tea in Skyview Bar.
Notes to editors:
Originally founded in 1909, each year 14 seniors from Yale University are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs - the world's oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. The "Whiffs" began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory's Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern and today the group have become one of Yale's most celebrated traditions.
Currently touring the world, the group were invited to Burj al Arab during a visit of Dubai where they performed a selection of songs, including I'll Be Seeing You and Midnight Train to Georgia during afternoon tea in the hotel’s Skyview Bar. Following this they were taken for a photo-shoot on the helipad of Burj al Arab.
