Welcome to the Jumeirah Carlton Tower’s highlights of London. The flowers are trees in Cadogan Gardens, and Sloane Street are bursting into bloom, we are enjoying longer evenings and as usual, London has a host of events and activities to keep you entertained during your trip. Below is a selection of activities to inspire your imagination as you plan your next trip to London.
The Natural History Museum's Sensational Butterflies exhibition returns for a seventh year to a specially constructed tropical enclosure on the Museum's east lawn. Located just a short stroll from the hotel, here you will come face-to-face with tropical butterflies, including the swallowtail, blue morpho, the moon moth and many others, and take part in games, activities and challenges that teach more about the sensory world of the fluttering creatures. The exhibition runs until 13 September 2015.
From 25 July to 27 September 2015, Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the Queen, is offering you the chance to explore the lavishly furnished State Rooms, containing some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection. Highlights include: Paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer, Poussin, Canaletto and Claude; Sculpture by Canova and Chantrey and exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain along with some of the finest English and French furniture in the world.
Each summer The Royal Albert Hall is host to the BBC Proms, an eight-week season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events. This year's BBC Proms sees the piano given a starring role with performances by Alexei Volodin, Sergei Babayan and Daniil Trifonov. BBC Proms takes place from 17 July to 12 September 2015.
This year’s Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy is coordinated by Michael Craig-Martin RA - a leading artist of his generation and the teacher who nurtured the talents of Gary Hume, Sarah Lucas and Damien Hirst. His distinctive creative vision promises room after room bursting with variety, colour and remarkable new work by leading and emerging artists - all handpicked from over 12,000 entries. The exhibition runs from 8 June to 16 August 2015.
