Insider's London - #AskJumeirah
Welcome to the Jumeirah Carlton Tower’s highlights of London. The flowers are trees in Cadogan Gardens, and Sloane Street are blooming, we are enjoying longer evenings and as usual, London has a host of events and activities to keep you entertained during your trip.
Below is a selection of activities to inspire your imagination as you plan your next trip to London.
The Natural History Museum's Sensational Butterflies exhibition returns for a seventh year to a specially constructed tropical enclosure on the Museum's east lawn. Located just a short stroll from the hotel, here you will come face-to-face with tropical butterflies, including the swallowtail, blue morpho, the moon moth and many others, and take part in games, activities and challenges that teach more about the sensory world of the fluttering creatures. The exhibition runs until 13 September 2015.
For a historic activity, visit the National Portrait Gallery (St. Martin’s Place, WC2H 0HE) where they are marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. This exhibition illustrates the Duke of Wellington’s extraordinary life as a soldier and statesman and runs until 7 June 2015.
When the sun comes out in London, so do the al fresco restaurants. With many new openings around the Capital, one has an abundance of choice. Located a two-minute walk from Jumeirah Carlton Tower, you will find The Terrace at Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel. Located in a secluded yet cosy courtyard just off Halkin Arcade, The Terrace offers a relaxed dining environment with comfortable corner sofas and heaters, should the sun disappear as can be the case quite often!
