Insider's London - #AskJumeirah
Winter has arrived in London and there promises to be some chilling months ahead. Don’t let the cold dampen your holiday plans as London is a fabulous city to visit when the weather turns cold.
As well as being home to a range of elegant and luxurious fashion houses, Sloane Street now has its fabulous Christmas lights brightening the sky and bringing a magical festive feeling. At nearby Motcomb Street, just steps away from our sister property Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, you will also find another stunning lighting display for the season, with the official Christmas Street Party on 4 December 2013.
London is loved for its theatrical performances. Treading the boards in the West End over the next few months is Jude Law in Shakespeare’s Henry V at the Noel Coward Theatre on St Martin’s Lane. It’s a limited run – from late November to early February – but promises to be an exciting production. A short walk from Jumeirah Carlton Tower, discover fabulous orchestras throughout the winter months at Cadogan Hall, while further afield in the outer suburbs, the festive season is well known for Pantomime; great fun for the whole family, speak to the concierge team for the latest listings.
If you’re looking for an outdoor activity, there are plenty of ice rinks to try your skill on. With the Tower of London, Winter Wonderland, Hampton Court Palace and Somerset House all hosting rinks this year, my personal favourite is the Natural History Museum, a short walk from us.
