Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah has always been a favourite among authors. Agatha Christie was a regular guest between 1926 and 1932 and according to popular belief, the “Murder on the Orient Express” was written in this room.
Room 411 is decorated in deep burgundy and black reflecting the darkness and intrigue of her novels so was Nobel for Literature Award laureate Ernest Hemingway who mentioned the hotel in his famous novel “Snows of Klimanjaro”. The delicately decorated Ernest Hemingway Suites with a separate living room, bathroom and dressing section are named after the American writer who stayed at Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah in 1922 and was a regular patron of the Orient Bar.
The interiors are decorated in a jade blue reflecting the literary giant’s love for the sea and an earthy brown as a nod to his love for cigars.
Our Pierre Loti Suites are named after the 19th century French novelist who captured the exoticism of his travels to the East as a young naval officer staying regularly at Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah. These suites overlook the Golden Horn and Petits de Champs.
