Signature Coffee Spice
Legend has it that the mystics of 12th century Yemen discovered a miraculous plant, whose fruits, when brewed, produced a rich beverage, which they valued for its invigorating properties.
Named “qahwa”, this prized infusion slowly spread through the ancient trade routes of Arabia, north into the peninsula and the Gulf, and to the rest of the world from the Yemeni port of Mocha. Woven, thus, indelibly into the fabric of Arabian culture, till today, ‘qahwa’ or coffee is an integral part of generous Bedouin hospitality, and no visit to Abu Dhabi would be complete without a taste of this traditionally spiced drink.
A salute to the rich heritage and visionary future of the UAE’s capital, an exclusive signature blend of spices has been especially created for Jumeirah at Etihad Towers by Chef Alfons Schuhbeck, and can be ordered at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge. The heady aroma of freshly ground coffee swirled with the delicious fragrance of cinnamon, cardamom and other local spices beckons irresistibly, providing visitors with an intriguing taste of the exotic Middle East.
