Morning

Beat the crowds and head for Dubai Mall, a cavernous entertainment plaza, and a popular choice for family days out in Dubai. Children can try their hand at being a doctor, chef or pilot at Kidzania’s pint-sized indoor city, while parents head off for some retail therapy. Travel back to prehistoric times and admire the enormous Dubai Dino, a 155m-year-old dinosaur skeleton that’s eight-metres tall and 25m long. Or, enjoy a cooling skate around Dubai Ice Rink and work up an appetite for lunch. From American ribs and Italian pizza, to Indian curry and Middle Eastern falafel, you can eat your way around the world in 80 cuisines.

Noon

IMG Worlds of Adventure delivers thrills on a huge scale. It’s the world’s largest indoor theme park, featuring daredevil Marvel-themed rides, Lazy Town adventures and interactive dinosaur action in the Lost World zone. Visit the Haunted Hotel if you dare, get a sugar rush at World of Candy, and hang out with Spider Man and the Powerpuff Girls in the meet and greet zone.

Afternoon

Spend a couple of hours putting your foot on the accelerator, go-karting at Dubai Autodrome’s Kartdrome. With exhilarating races, including an indoor track for the hot summers, the whole family can feel the adrenaline rush while competing for poll position. Dubai Autodrome’s go-karting is suitable for children aged seven and over. Follow your pulse-racing karting session with a relaxing walk around The Green Planet. This giant bio-dome houses a huge variety of tropical flora and fauna, and kids will love coming eye-to-eye with sloths, geckos and toucans.

Evening

As the evening draws in, head outside to one of Dubai’s many parks to enjoy the scenery and balmy temperatures. Jumeirah Lakes Towers Park has swings, slides and sandpits, making it great for little ones. After the sun sets, head to the Dubai Fountain on the 30-acre Burj Lake for a dazzling water and light show set to music. For the best seat in town watch the show from aboard an abra, a traditional wooden boat. End your unforgettable family day out in Dubai with a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants around the Madinat Souk, from Asian cuisine at The Noodle House, to casual BBQ dining at Perry & Blackwelders, Dubai’s first smokehouse.
