The race

As the final race of the season, very often it all comes down to this. One driver will be crowned champion. Experience the thrill and tension of watching the world’s fastest race cars tear around the Yas Marina Circuit at speeds of over 190mph, leaving a deafening roar and the pungent scent of burning rubber in their wake.

Where to watch it

The buzz of excitement that rips through the Yas Marina Circuit is arguably the most electric in motorsport. The racing track cost $1.32bn to build, making it the most expensive in the sport’s history, and it seats up to 41,000 fans. For sweeping views of the entire stadium, head to the West Grandstand. Alternatively, those seeking glamour and exclusivity can witness all the action from a Marina Bayside Suite, the prestigious Formula 1 Paddock Club, or on the top deck of a luxury mega yacht.

Where to eat

For something more sophisticated than the food vendors scattered around the stadium, call on Yas Island’s renowned Italian restaurant, Cipriani. Its floor-to-ceiling windows have views out over the rows of shiny yachts moored in the glittering Gulf. Return to Abu Dhabi for immaculately presented gourmet Japanese dishes at Tori No Su.
