Ecole hôtelière De Lausanne
As a world centre for hospitality management education, Switzerland has a well-established reputation as an outstanding place in which to combine learning with an unsurpassed lifestyle. Lausanne is located in the centre of Switzerland's Riviera - a quintessentially Swiss town within a spectacular environment. Study is of course demanding at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), but social and sporting pursuits are encouraged as integral to a student's preparation for a career in the hospitality business. The range of sporting opportunities begins with water sports on Europe's biggest lake. Cross-country skiing is but half an hour away.
In the century since the school was established in 1893, the name 'Lausanne' has come to be synonymous in the hospitality industry with excellence, managerial rigour, attention to detail and devotion to high standards. Much is demanded of students, not only in terms of their intellectual capacity, but also in their willingness to work hard, their leadership potential and their openness to new cultures, ideas and philosophies. Studying at EHL provides an opportunity to experience a truly unique environment, full of motivated and motivating students.
In 1975, EHL moved to a purpose-built campus about ten kilometres north of Lausanne. It has been regularly expanded since then, and in February 1998 a new wing was opened, reflecting the state-of-the-art in educational infrastructure.
