Featuring celebrated chef Kerry Heffernan's outstanding signature Modern American cuisine, South Gate offers a distinctive and seasonally inspired menu, sure to attract native New Yorkers and visitors alike.

Boasting a fresh, sleek interior by famed designer, Tony Chi of Tony Chi and Associates, the fabulous new restaurant will be Central Park South's most exciting new address.

This restaurant is set up in four main areas that come together to create South Gate: The Tavern, The Dining Room, The Gallery, Pre-Theater menu, and Sunday Brunch, are now available at Central Park South’s most talked about restaurant.

The Tavern

The Tavern is the Bar/Lounge area as you come into the restaurant with idyllic views of Central Park and its horse drawn carriages.  Sit at the bar or lounge by the window taking in the views of Central Park’s changing seasons.  Featuring a long red travertine bar glittering mirror glass walls.

Enjoy one of our very own cocktail selections, a glass of wine, or a bite from our bar menu starting at 3:00pm on weekdays and 3:30pm on weekends.


The Dining Room

Our main dinning room is open for lunch, dinner, and Saturday & Sunday brunch, glittering mirror glass walls, the glow of the fireplace, and a unique glass wine cellar.

Seasonal modern American cuisine.



The Gallery

Open for breakfast, The Gallery brings an innovative way of presenting the 'buffet style' breakfast; a-la-carte service also available. 

The Gallery is also available as a private dinning space during the lunch and dinner time periods.



Pre-theatre Menu

South Gate now features a 3 course pre-theater prix-fixe menu starting at 5:30pm. 

In close proximity to Broadway, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center, South Gate is the perfect spot to start off your night at the theater, opera, or ballet.

Wine Program

Headed by our sommelier Troy Weissmann, South Gate’s wine program boasts over 1,200 wine selections.

Exclusively at South Gate, we feature the VINIO computerized wine list system.
